What are the usual laws/regs you run into around Alabama in regards to bowhunting inside city limits? Is it a town to town deal or what?
Just curious, never really looked into it. I cant imagine its any different than shooting your bow at a target in your yard.

I liked it. I liked the work put into finding the bucks then getting a strategy in place to actually kill the buck legally. Those bucks are huge. I have friends in Bham that have LARGE bucks walking around their neighborhood like those bucks are. It's crazy how big a buck can get in 5-6 years.

I love that series. If i remember though i think one of those boys is a convicted poacher. I think it is Lee. a google search of "lee ellis poaching" will take you to AT thread about it. Lee_ellis If you guys would like the real story I would be glad to share. I'm glad that someone told me about this thread. I will give you guys a quick background on me. Most of you guys know it. In high school I was cited for hunting over bait. Was in the wrong no doubt about it. I've made mistakes in the past and I will be the first to admit that. The incident that was cited on this thread was a license issue. I by mistake only bought half of the required license that year. I typically bought them at Walmart and just said I need a deer hunting license. They would ring me up and that was that. That particular year, they quit selling them at Walmart and I had to buy it online. Was my first time doing that and I bought a big game hunting license that under the description said, hunting license for whitetail deer, turkey, ect. I did not know I had to have a hunting license in combo with the big game one. Was a matter of 9 dollars and the big game license I bought looked just like the license I normally buy. Had the tags and everything. I had permission to hunt a piece of property and a neighbor saw me dragging a deer out. He did not know I had permission so he called the game warden. Long story short, I was written a ticket for hunting without a license. I spend hundreds of hours and dollars a year on hunting. I would have gladly spent the 9 extra dollars for the full license if i had known. I had already spend 10 on the big game license. Anyways, that is explanation of that situation. I have had a target on my back ever since and have gone above and beyond to make sure I am 100% by the book.

The biggest live buck by far I have ever seen lived on a golf course off Camp Creek parkway near the airport. That was many years ago but I know for a fact there are some huge bucks in the suburbs of Atlanta.

I have hunted in the Snellville area with my brother and there are some huge deer around Atlanta. One tract we hunted was just east of airport and you constantly had jets coming right over you all day long. Pretty hard to adapt to hunting those type of areas just due to all the activity and noises. We would park behind KMART on one tract and the other in Dentist office parking lot. Killed a few deer with him but dealing with some of the neighbors when a deer would die in the yard was not fun at all.

I had a uncle that lived in Burford ga for 15 and he killed big bucks every year. He killed a 140+ in 9 point one year. He hunted with a 12 ga with buckshot. I don't know how he didn't go to jail. Man I can tell you some stories about that guy, God rest his soul.
