We were hunting in northern Kansas. The weather was hot for this time of year. Deer movement was mainly the first and last hour and a half of daylight. We hunted the edges of fields are in cedars in crp fields. We did a lot of rattling with good results. I wish we would have taken some ground blinds. The deer I killed I had him at 42 that morning. I'm shooting ramcats with a drop away rest. Went to pull back on him and my arrow came off my string. Tried my other arrows they all did the samething. The blades where hitting my riser. Went back to hotel tighten all the blades back up. Went back that afternoon got in the stand pull my bow back everything is fine. About a hour b4 dark pick up the horns rattle and see him coming. Deer gets to 25 yards I draw back arrow comes off the string again. Deer knows something isn't right now starts to leave I nock another arrow he turns broadside at 60 yards. Hit the release and hit him back so let him lay over night found him the next day. He went about a 150 yards.

Congrats on a nice Kansas buck!
It takes a long time to grow an old friend.
