I'm in my third day of recovery after having my shoulder surgery. It's been a pretty painful ordeal so far and it's just begun. The bordum has also set in already, and I've got 2-3 months of this to look forward to. I'm a pretty active guy, so this downtime is gonna be rough. I'm not one to ask for prayers, but if you don't mind, throw a few my wifes way, she's gonna need them. grin

I feel your pain and you have my prayers. My wife fell last Friday and broke her shoulder. She is about to have major reconstruction done to hers.

Labrum and rotator repair, and a large spur removed.

That's better than an A/C reconstruction. Rehab return to lifting/football on the AC is 7 mths. You can be back from a labrum in 3 mths. Did they rig you up with a pain pump for the first 3 days? I never used anything other than that and the pain wasnt too bad.

I have a ice pump on my shoulder and leg cuffs that pump up for circulation on my legs.

They cut on the AC recon. Had this round ball IV deal that just kept a constant low flow of pain med for the first 2.5 days. Started rehab the second day after the surgery and they were moving the shoulder around for me. Had shoulder in a sling but was able to get up and move around and do normal stuff from day 1 other than they made sleep in a recliner for 2 months to keep from moving or rolling onto it during sleep. The leg cuffs part is what surprises me, are they not letting you get up and walk around or do normal activity with just the shoulder immobilized?

I guess I could, but it hurts to walk. It's all I can do to get to the bathroom and back

No matter the pain you've got to push thru and physical therapy is key. Had a complete left shoulder done(collar bone, rotator cup, etc) due to a severe car wreck back in 2003. Now i had a lot more injuries to recover from also but it took me about a year to get my range of motion back and i still didn't gain 100% back as i can only lift my arm about 90% all the way over my head but that's as far as it'll go due to all the hardware. Shoulder surgery and recovery was painful but push thru no matter the pain. When feeling froggy DON'T overdo it. It's very easy to screw whichever shoulder up again.

Yep. Broke my AC in August 2015. Still hurts.

Was almost afraid to open this. I'm first in line Wednesday morning at Shelby to have the right shoulder scoped. Not looking forward to it at all.
