This past week while taking Faith to school, while driving, I noticed my vision just seemed to be off. Nothing major, but something was bothering me in my peripheral vision. My contact in my left eye had been bothering me, and today I was wearing my glasses. I asked Faith to clean my glasses and handed her the cleaning cloth and my glasses, but really didn't expect to see any difference when she was done.
However, upon her returning the glasses, having them put on, it was like.... WOW!! I had no idea how dirty the glasses were, or how poorly I was seeing! It was like my vision was restored, as I was seeing everything so much clearer. I knew I had some issues with my sight, but didn't think it was THAT bad.
Much like this past week, most of us realize we have sin in our life, and can't see, but until we have Jesus in our life, we don't realize how bad we really were wrapped up in sin, and how bad our condition is without Him.
Our scripture today also parallels the above, as well as the past devotionals on Jesus being by our side, and us not seeing Him.
Romans 3:23
23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God
John 9:6-7; 9:35-38
6 Then he spat on the ground and made mud from the spittle and smoothed the mud over the blind man’s eyes, 7 and told him, “Go and wash in the Pool of Siloam” (the word Siloam means “Sent”). So the man went where he was sent and washed and came back seeing!
35 Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when He had found him, He said to him, “Do you believe in the Son of God?”
36 He answered and said, “Who is He, Lord, that I may believe in Him?”
37 And Jesus said to him, “You have both seen Him and it is He who is talking with you.”
38 Then he said, “Lord, I believe!” And he worshiped Him
For some of us, we like the bling man, have to acknowledge Jesus as Lord and profess with our mouth, and believe in our heart, He is our Savior. For others, who have already made this acknowledgement, we need to repent, and get back to the basics.
I know not where each of you are today, but I do know Jesus loves us, died for each of us, and is readily awaiting us to come home to Him, regardless of where we have been in sin.
Father God, I thank You today for Your love, grace, and the salvation we have through Your son Jesus. Thank You for prayer, and hearing our voices, and answering each.
We ask for Your touch today, to clean our eyes, and make us whole in You. Let our given gifts and strengths be used for You today, to bring You glory and honor. May the Holy Spirit guide each of us in the decisions we have to make. May Your healing hands be placed upon those who are hurting not only physically, but mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Let Your joy and assurance be seen in us, and may we be able to tell others why we are this way, even in the troubles we each face.
Thank You for second chances, and even thirds, as You love us with the blood of Christ.
For it is in the name of Jesus, our Redeemer, we ask and claim these things, Amen!
Love ya'll.
God Bless, David B.

Keep em coming. We all need encouragement.
