Anyone have any experience with this? It looks real tempting. No entry test, all online, aascb accredited, and only $14k. What am I missing?

Have you looked at UAB? They have a highly accredited Business program and online programs for the MBA. A good friend of mine mine starts in January. He was even able to qualify for financial aide with a good family income.

I don't care if it was $14. No way I'd have a diploma from there on my wall. grin

I don't think you're missing anything. It's online and they don't have to expend many resources on you. They want your money.

But the real point of an MBA isn't as much the degree, as it is the networking. Don't believe me? Ask anyone who goes to Wharton, etc if they got more benefit from the book work, or the connections.

That's very true. If your current employer is going to raise your salary just because you get another degree or you feel you have more potential for advancement, etc. I'd go cheapest route in that scenario.

However the biggest benefit of an MBA program is the alumni/networking. I have seen first hand people get interviewed for jobs and get hired simply because went to an expensive school. An MBA from an SEC school vs one from Columbia isn't worth the paper it is printed on.

No government employees were harmed in the making of this mess.

You can network through social media. Online learning is where it is at now days. What you get out of it depends on what you put into it. I completed my undergrad online and admittedly at times I simply did what was needed to get the A. Other times I went above and beyond and mastered the curriculum.

If it feels right to you, then for it. Education a is great thing man.

An MBA is more and more becoming a requirement for advancement in the corporate world, and it's even becoming a "check the box" item for entry-level jobs in some fields.

UAB's online MBA is $40k. I'd take the LSU.
