I checked my guns on the recall site and I have one gun that is recalled. Not cool. I've never had any problems out of it, but I plan to send it in. Pretty simple process, but it takes too long if they really keep it 6-8 weeks.

It may be a pain but it`s better than having something bad happen.

My grandfather passed down a model 700 to me a few years ago. After he heard about the recall he made me swap it back to him for his Marlin 30-30. He is still shooting it and has not had any problems.

Wouldnt send one back. Put a $100 timney in it and you will thank yourself later. Its a 10 minute install with a small hammer and pin punch.

Recall is cya lawyer bullchit put a new trigger in it or use the one that's in it already.

I put a Timney Calvin Elite in my old 700 last year. I am not a real frequent shooter and really had no idea just how much better I would shoot with a good trigger.I am going to get the pull weight moved up a little though because right now all I really have to do is think about pulling the trigger and it happens.

On a related note, I had a Browning A-bolt that was recalled. I think it had to do with the bolt causing misfires upon closing, not sure. I waited until after the season to send it in. After they repaired it, they stamped the metal on the receiver, right where the bolt handle rests. This stamp was to signify that the gun had been through the recall process.

I'm not sure about a trigger issue, but skipping the recall could affect resale value.

I sent one back a few months ago. From the time I shipped it until the time I received it back was less than 4 weeks.
