My EDC gun. Finally got it setup just how I want it, it's always been one of my favorite guns but now I love it even more.. Trijicon HD night sights, Apex trigger kit, and Hyve plus two base plate (gives it 10+1). Carry it appendix position in a bladetech klipt iwb holster with a magholder horizontal mag carrier next to it for a backup mag.

Sweet!
I almost bought one a couple of months ago! I went with the Ruger LC9s Pro with laser. I wish I hadn't got the laser model! If I take it off it leaves a hole under the recoil spring.

Yep, had a Shield for over a year. Best shooting pistol I have. Or had, I sold them all.

Very nice.

Saw on a tv gun show where S&W was doing performance shields as well with ported barrel and slide, trigger and sear work.

I like your choice of sights much better!! thumbup

Sweet!

Sig Sauer, to hell and back reliable.

Whatever suits you just tickles me plum to death.

Can I refill your eggnog for you? Get you something to eat? Drive you out to the middle of nowhere and leave you for dead?

I love my shield. Thinking about replacing the stock sights also with Big Dots. SW hit a home run with the Shield.

Only accurate rifles are interesting.

I can't understand the attraction to appendix carry. Strong side is much more comfortable and I enjoy having two testicles.

It's not that bad once you've done it for a while. I wear my shield in the car and all day at work or wherever I go and it doesn't bother me a bit.

I hear that all the time from people asking about carry options at work. If you carry in a good solid holster that covers the trigger then you have nothing to worry about. I carry my shield (it's the non-safety model) with a round in the chamber ready to go and I don't have the slightest fear that the gun is going to magically go off and shoot me in the crotch.

Me neither. I have zero fear of the gun accidentally going off. You still however have to look at the statistics of negligent discharge.Nearly all NG's happen when drawing or holstering, can't get away from that stat. No one expects an NG but I prefer to have one near the outside of my leg and not near my junk or pointed at my femoral artery. Stuff can happen if you are all amped up because someone else just pulled a gun or because you need to pull one quick.

Even if you discount the possibility of an NG holstering or drawing,I just see no benefit of apendex carry for me. Since there's no benefit, there's no reason to ignore the statistical possibility of an NG.

I carry a G43 every day and have carried a G36 every day for about 15 years and like you I have no fear that the gun will go off unless I pull the trigger.

BTW
I really like your Shield. Does the mag extension come with a replacement stronger spring?

Right. I make it a point to never reholster my loaded gun. If for some reason I have to pull it out I'll pull my holster out of my waistband, holster it, and then reinsert the holster. As far as a ND while unholstering I make sure that whenever I practice draws my trigger finger is placed along the frame during the entire draw stroke and not placed in the trigger guard until the gun is being pressed out onto target. I realize that chit happens but with good training and gun etiquette you can greatly reduce the chances.
The main reason I carry appendix is because:
1. There is virtually zero printing at any angle that I move
2. It's a much quicker and natural area for me to draw from
And 3. I feel that having the gun up front gives me total control over it and reduces the likelihood of someone easing up behind me and grabbing my weapon.
Not bashing anyone's method of carry at all, just explaining why I do it and why it works for me. And no it didn't come with a different spring but it doesn't seem to have affected reliability at all. I've ran several mags through it with no hiccups. Plus the factory springs with factory base plates are super stiff in the first place.
