Anybody ever thought of shooting a few squirrels while deer hunting? They make small game broadheads for squirrel hunting. I realize some of y'all wouldn't dream of doing this, but I get bored at times if I'm not seeing deer, which is typical.

I usually keep one arrow with a field point or cheap old broadhead in my quiver for squirrels, coons, or possums. Shot a squirrel last year and pinned him to the ground... damn thing flailed til he pulled my arrow out of the ground, then climbed 30 feet up a tree with my arrow sticking out both sides of him. Never got that arrow back.

Judo point. It's perfect for finding your arrow after shooting at a squirrel/rabbit/whatever.

I love shooting varmints on those slow days where the deer just don't seem to be moving.

I kept an arrow with a field point last year for this. Shot probably 4 squirrels. I shot a rabbit once, and it died immediately and I had plenty of daylight left so I stayed in the stand. The rabbit was kind of behind me, so I wasn't paying to much attention. I thought I heard something a little bit later, and I Look up and a bobcat was walking off with the rabbit in its mouth.

I've often wished I had my .17HMR with me when deer hunting.

I carry three broadheads for big stuff and two judos in my quiver for small game. We eat them so yea I do it on occasion. I also hunt from the ground so it's not as big a deal for me to retrieve it after its shot. I'm such a miserable hunter anyway I got to come home with something smile

I always have an arrow or two with the S.G.H Arrowhead from gander. Does some crazy damage.

That's a neat story there.

Thought about carrying a wrist rocket and a few buckshot pellets.
