Legal or not in AL? Bow mounted laser rangefinder such as the Leupold Vendetta? This is all I can find in the game laws book.

It is Illegal to:
" Hunt using laser sights, attachments and light sources to project a beam forward of a gun or bow, except for legally blind hunters."

I really don't think that applies to a laser rangefinder, but I might be wrong. What do you say? Thx, Robinhedd

As long as it's not a visible beam you would be ok with all but the most most aggressive interpretation of that regulation. I wouldn't worry about it.

The way I read the regulation, it's illegal.

83% of all statistics are made up.

You'd probably have a hard time convincing a non-hunting District Judge that a mounted rangefinder isn't a sight. It would be easier to convince the GW and hope he knows the difference.

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

I'd say not. But, Looks like it will be the GW discression so you could get a ticket if he feels like it. Kinda like corn.

I don't know if it is legal or not, but an argument could be made that the light spectrum visible to the human eye is from about 390 to 700 nanometers in wavelength. You could look on the box for the specifications of that laser to see what wavelength it uses, I guess.

I found this color scale:

When they first hit the market they were illegal here. They are legal now.

Can someone post the regulation, please? (New to bow hunting)
