Congrats Darryl, good start. Anybody heard from my brother in blue or the other couple of team members. Us Cajuns have an old saying when we shoot something,"we turned em a flip". Team Turned em a flip? What y'all think. Y'all throw some names out. I'm not real good at names as y'all can see. Lol

I'm okay with any team name. My screen name "foldemup" is similar to your Cajun saying....except hanging out the truck the window yelling "fold that bitch up!" grin

Well that's everybody....good luck to you all this season. Go ahead and get your doe in early. Drives me crazy every year I'm on a team with people that won't shoot a doe early, then they never do.

I got lucky and had a doe and 2 fawns read the script at daylight. They came out at 40 yards and fed right to me. The doe finally stopped walking and I drilled her at 11 yards. She made a 100 yard "death run" and was done

Congrats to your dad. Y'all keep up the good work guys. Until this heat and these mosquitoes are gone there's not going to be much hunting done here. I just can't hunt with temps in the mid 70s in the mornings and mid 90s in the afternoon. Going to head up to the camp next weekend and try some bow hunting. No one has been on our place yet so the deer should be surprised when we show up and hopefully deflate a couple.

I know you'll kill your fair share. I have a sneaky suspicion I may get it done again this week.

They're slipping up pretty regular and I get the first right wind to hunt gen the same day a front is pushing in (Thursday). I just have to make a decision and hope it's right. These two are on one property using the same spot. I also have a four year old ten point that's been pretty regular at the same spot I shot the buck on opening day. He ain't a real high scoring deer, 120ish, but he's a big mature deer and that's all that matters to me! I just don't know which one will be more killable this week. It's a tough choice but I could think of a lot worse problems to have!

Here's the ten point. Me and him have some history. I passed him a few times last year.

Nice deer Norton. Good problem to have. Looks like we may finally get some decent weather this weekend. Our rut should be getting started in a he next week or so. Need some cool weather to get rid of some of these mosquitos. They are horrible right now. Good luck guys. Hope y'all all kill big ones.

I don't even have a mature deer on camera for the first time since I started using camera's and I don't know why. I've had less of a presence there this summer than any other summer since I've had the lease . I'm hoping they start showing up soon to give me some motivation to get in the woods

Well I guess our rut is getting started down here. I checked my camera at the house and I got a decent little 8 pt mounting a doe. Never had a pic like that before. Wish I knew how to post pics. It's pretty cool to see that.

Ok boys it's time to get this party started. Make my 1st hunt of the season this afternoon. This weekend is doe days also so the 1st deer to walk out better watch out. I'm not gonna be responsible for my actions. Need fresh backstrap.

Good luck!!!

I'm heading to the woods here shortly too. I'm hunting our 80 acre tract in Cullman County this afternoon. I've got 6-7 bucks on camera there that I'd shoot with a bow, so I'm hoping to get on one of them today; hopefully, one of these studs:

I'd be very happy with one of these younger bucks too, though:

Made an afternoon hunt today and saw 4 does and a really nice 2yr old 8pt. He got a pass. He has good potential. Not a bad afternoon considering the temps and the millions of mosquitos.

Saw a couple of does myself today, but none close enough for a bow.

GOOD GRIEF it's HOT!!!! Wen put out a tripod today overlooking a grown up field with lots of sign in it. I was drenched with sweat and need a blood transfusion from all the mosquitos. Sorry guys but the deer can have it till it cools down some. It's just miserable down here. Good luck to y'all who are out chasin em.

Hot as Hades here too. Saw a doe train Saturday morning at about 10 yards, unfortunately it was 9:30 and hot as heck and my bow was already on the ground. I had my backpack on and started climbing down when I heard them coming. Yesterday afternoon I had a deer come in right at dark in the woods and I couldn't verify that it wasn't a spike or doe, so I let it scoot by. Slept in the morning and went and sweat it out this afternoon. Heard one walking through the thicket behind me close to dark, but never could get an eye on it. I'm ready for some cooler weather, cause this Sucks!

I drilled her perfect, but you can't see it in that picture. Strong quartering away with Rage entrance in top third underneath my riser of my bow with the exit clipping the front left leg right at the edge of the brisket.

No extra points, but I killed another doe yesterday. We've got a TON of deer on our place, so I plan to continue shooting the does during bow season...The regs changed this year for our county and we only have about 12 doe days in gun season now. We need to kill about 10 does off our property, so that makes it very tough! And half of those doe days are in the heart of the rut SMH

Congrats Au. Yesterday morning I was working on some levees in one of my rice fields and a nice 8pt came running out of a tree line. Ran out in the middle of a plowed field and was just looking around. I guess he had a doe and he lost her. It would have been very easy to kill him. He had no care other than finding the doe. He ran damn near the whole field and than went back in the trees. I love to watch them when they get stupid like that. My tractor never concerned him one bit. At one time he ran with in 75 yds of my tractor.

Been hitting it hard since Thursday afternoon. Seeing a few deer but movement has been pretty slow. Gonna sit as long as I can today. Deer seem to be moving later in the morning here. If I can keep my mind off of that good gumbo I cooked last night,I'm gonna sit till noon.

That sounds about right. Just having all 6 members actually hunting makes a difference. We could easily win this thing!

I'm working on getting mine now. I'm in a big hardwood bottom between a thick clearcut and one our biggest fields. If nothing dies today I will hunt in the morning than head back to the real world and be back here thanksgiving afternoon with the family. I'm trying my damndest to do my part.

I hunted on our Cullman County tract this afternoon with my muzzleloader and had a heck of a hunt. I saw 8 deer and a bobcat. One of the deer was pretty nice and I probably should've shot him, but he was a borderline 7 or 8 point. I had him at 75 yards, but I never could tell how old he was. I've got about 4 bucks on camera like him there and I was scared he might be a two year old...I guess I did the right thing, but it's not every day that I get a decent buck in my sights!

they moved good yesterday afternoon. Saw a couple young bucks and some does. all worked pretty much perfectly but I didn't have much time to fool with a doe so I held off until this weekend. that super moon had them on their feet at my place about 45 minutes before dark

They were moving great Sunday afternoon till dark, just all does and yearlings. I don't even have a big buck on camera. This weather sucks!

I got lucky and had a bachelor group of 4 bucks come into a foodplot at 4:30 yesterday afternoon. Two of the bucks were nice 8 points and I was able to bullet-whip the better one. He's the best buck I've killed in 3 years and I'm very happy with him! I had lots of game camera pictures of him all over our farm.

Well it looks like the coonass is sucking hind tit. Going up to camp Wednesday pm and will hunt till Sunday am. Will hunt in the afternoon with my little girl and the mornings are mine. Hopefully I can contribute some points. Oh and congrats to all y'all deer killing machines.

We had a terrible trip to camp for thanksgiving. My little girl and I never saw a deer. I saw 1 little yearling and my son saw a doe and couldn't get a shot. I was kinda warm until Sunday morning. Had a heavy frost and I knew the deer wouldn't be moving early but we went out anyway. Made a short hunt and had to start getting ready to come home. We left camp a 1000hrs and as we drive out the yard there is 4 big does standing on our rd. Never fails. Lol. Maybe next week will be better.

I decided to go to one of my bow sets yesterday bc the wind was perfect for it, about 15 minutes before its too dark I have " the big 7" at 50 yards. light faded too fast and I couldnt get a shot on him. the only day I choose to take my bow instead of my rife that happens. slap

Hey guys, instant ALDEER gold on serious forum about high fence kill. Since we don't have a name, how about Free Range in the Big Pen?

Nothing this morning. Wind was pretty tough here in Monroe co. My hunt got interrupted when a tan suburbon passed on co. rd and let a shot go about 200 yds from me at 8am. By the time I got there they were gone. Guess they missed. Scared the hell outa me.

I'm not seeing didly squat. Gonna go sit on a field that I've only hunted 1 time in the 5 yrs we had this place. It's set back in the corner of a big creek bottom and a transition from big open pines and thick young pines. It's a long ride to get to it but I'm gonna give it a try. I usually hunt this area at the end of January but never the field. Don't like going in there till the time is right but I'm ready to see or kill something worth shooting.

[img:center]http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e373/russell1388/12150008_zpsbclg2btl.jpg[/img

I passed this buck up this weekend, he's the biggest deer I have on camera on my butler county lease but I know he's young and I had along time to decide if I wanted to shoot him or not. Second good buck like this that I've let walk there this year. I guess I found where he's bedding down the creek from where these pics are about 300 yards. hopefully during the rut I can catch a bonus buck crusing through there worth shooting

Good luck to you guys!!! The rut is beginning to wind down at our properties, so I don't have high hopes of killing another buck. I plan on hunting quite a bit before season's end, but it will take a big one for me to pull the trigger

If we could get our coonass to kill a doe we would win this thing! I got a young 11 point this morning. He had a broke rear leg and fell in an iced over mud puddle in the road. He couldn't get up for almost 10 minutes, so I decided to put him down. Couldn't believe yotes haven't brought him down yet.

Congrats! I know you may not be real happy about it, but you did the right thing!!!

It's a shame you had to put him down! He had a lot of potential to really be something special with more age

how do y'all think this warm weather will effect the areas taht the rut are about to come in? think it will shut movement down and make them do it at night? my main rut usually starts between the 18-28th and it's going to be highs in the 70's up until the 25th at my place

Ok gentlemen, almost done with my last day of work. Leaving in the morning and heading up to the camp. I'm on vacation till February 8. Everything is packed and ready to load in the truck. I hope I don't let y'all down and we get beat. I don't do well at being the 1st loser. Maybe this weather will give us a break and we see good deer movement. Good luck to all you guys still out chasin em.

Good Luck! Our lease has almost come to a stop. Barely even seeing any deer at all. The few decent bucks I had on camera have disappeared. Hopefully a wanderer shows up.

We been hitting the woods pretty hard the last few days. Seeing more and more smaller bucks moving around. We had a buck show up on camera the last few days that has a nice 4pt on one side and a long spike type antler on the other with what looks like a bun I of junk around where the brow tine should be. Hard to tell by the pics what all is there. I think he will actually be an upgrade if I can kill him. Also why is it that on the days you decide to kill a doe, none ever show up? Once all the weather passes and it cools off we should start seeing some good action. I hope.

Well guys I have good news and bad news x2. I killed the spike on one side buck and he did have some junk on the spike side but I only got 8pts off him so no upgrade. 2nd bad news is I had to cut my trip short due to health issues with my mom and didn't get a doe. Sorry guys, if we lose it will all be on me. Hope I don't come down to my doe it just didn't happen.

Congrats turkey. Heck of a deer. I will host the hunt if y'all don't mind shooting crows and buzzards. I don't even share the turkeys with my kids. J/K. I wish we could get a hunt together. Just started working in the fields hoping to have everything ready to plant before the season opens. Hope Mother Nature cooperates with me.

Woohoo!

Great relief to know you got him, and find him!

It's amazing how we can think we covered an area so good, and then realize we missed a spot.

Congrats Turkeymaster!
