I'll be hunting Cahaba WMA a few times, along with some friends' camps. I'm a graduate student, so I don't have the funds to join a club.

I'll be hunting the delta, and some private land in central Mississippi. Far as a team name, I got nothin. One of you velvet tooth wordsmiths come up with somethin.

Basically I lived with a guy I found on Craigslist this summer. His name was Gary and he was 65 years old. He worked at Bass Pro and had a 21 year old mexican girlfriend that was a lesbian other than with him. He bought her stuff and she gave him relations.

I Hunt in a club in Winston Co. 90% of the time. Im a head Football coach so I dont even get my stands out for another two weeks. I will let them have it after that. I need to get to know CaptJab anyway, I need a fishing trip next 4th of July.

I must be in a gator whole compared to the fuss i hear on here in Winston Co. We got a few good shooter deer and a really nice place to get away and hunt but it aint all the fuss ive heard on here makes it to be. Good folks and plenty of deer hunting but not easy.

Anyone hunted yet? I haven't been. Grad school has been very time consuming the last few weeks. I may try to get out to Cahaba this weekend.

Been twice, seen yotes and turkey. Working this week, hitch ends Thursday morning. Will get back in the woods after that.

I hunted Sunday morning, saw 4 one fed by at 42 yards but no shot. hope to get back in the woods this weekend

Last game Friday night and then im gonna head down to the Hunting club after and try to hunt a little this weekend. 1st time in the woods this year will be Sat. My buddy found me a good spot and cleaned up a tree for me to climb so Im gonna let my lil Swacker talk Dirty to an ole long nose girl from Winston Co. Hopefully pics will be posted soon.

SCORED! Got a doe with my bow so I guess I got us some points. I forgot about the contest so the only pic I have is the one I took with Buckley holding it. CapJab he was my sidekick all weekend, helped me clear lanes and hang a couple stands. You will get a kick out of him! I will post up the pic later today.

Did a lil grocery shopping Sat Morning. 105lb Barren Doe. Hd to quite Ginger Morehead for making fun of my old Jennings Buckmaster Bow. I wonder if im the only person in the state who still hunts with one? Hmm may start a new thread.

Congrats! I had a Jennings once that shot great. I screwed up and let a friend borrow it and he let a friend of his draw it back with no arrow in it. I'm sure you can figure the rest of the story out.

I've been slammed with school, so tomorrow morning at Cahaba WMA will be my first sit of the year. If it's brown and doesn't have spots (or if it's over 3 points on one side) it's down.

It was pretty sweet the way it all worked out. That one filled the freezer so the pressure is off and Im just hunting bone now. You know what usually happens then, you start seeing damn fine deer everywhere till you get tired of letting them walk. Then you decide to kill and see nothing. LOL. You boys gonna have to step your game up so we can win this thing. Get yer Arses in the woods and go get them. Good luck Boys maybe we all get a big un.

Well I brought my tag back home from Kansas. Hot weather and standing Milo is my excuse. I had plenty of opportunities on bucks, but not necessarily the ones I was looking for. I finally had a shooter at 200 yards, but due to windy conditions he couldn't hear any of the grunt or bleat calls that I tried. I watched him for over 30 minutes total and although it was fun watching him, it really sucked that he didn't come over to check the draw I was in for a hot doe.
I may head back out after their gun season and see what happens.

Congrats JD. Don't have any points for us yet, but my 7 yr old killed a doe this evening.

I have had a few good days of hunting, I have seen a lot of deer. Yesterday I took my 4yo on his first hunt ever, it was nerve wracking. I had no expectations as to what happened, I posted about it in the lftt from the 27 th. Long story short, we watched a dirt field of does and smaller bucks for the last hour and right as it was getting dark a big buck eases out and then sad daddy blows out and chases and pushes every deer out there around for a few minutes. By the time we got ready for a shot and the deer finally stopped chasing it was to dark to tell which one of the dozen feeding was the shooter. It was an awesome sight a truly great first hunting experience for us to have shared together. I was wore out he is still jacked, it was a great afternoon

Got a 10 on the ground this morning to add a few more points to the board

Heck yeah great deer. I'll be done with finals on Tuesday and will start hunting a lot more, I'll hopefully be able to get some points soon.

hope to be in the woods most of this weekend, I haven't gone in almost 2 weeks and the young bucks were harassing does last time
I went so hopefully the big boys will start moving about, but this weather and high temps won't be of any help!!

Killed a doe this mornin. Thanks SBS for posting for me.

Shot a 9 point Stud of a swamp buck in the last few minutes of the last day. He is an upgrade as far as his size. he had a good heavy rack was 180 dressed, and had broken his left main beam, but im not sure he will give us more points than the ten I shot earlier in the season.
