I agree Geno. WHo comes up with this crap. We wouldn't have had any athletics or many people parking at school if they did this 15 yr ago when I was in school. We done what 17-18 yr old kids do and had a damn good time doing it, And we all made it just fine.

My dad always said as long as the state and local governments accept federal dollars they have to play by the FED rules. Same with us as long as we accept the public education benefits we have to take the government controls. Want it your way home school your kids.

We had a young man die of a drug overdose a few months ago. The thinking is if a strong drug testing policy is in place, it gives young people a reason to say no.
I'm not saying it's right or wrong. That's just what is going on.
This young man wasn't a derelict or anything like that. Came from a good family, played sports, All American kid. There's some pretty heavy duty drugs making the rounds with teens today, stuff that makes a few beers in a cooler on the back of a truck seem pretty tame.

This would never fly with adults. Think about it. "Sir, we have to drug test you at the court house because you're buying a car tag".
Driving is a privilege, correct? So let's just drug test everyone while we're at it. "It's the safe thing to do and it will save lives" pfffft. The courts would be tied up all year with people legitimately crying foul.
It's none of the school's dang business. Let's drug test teachers, cops, and game wardens while we're at it. Working is a privilege, correct?

See, these crap rules only work on people who can't fight back (kids).

How is drug testing going to get teens to stop using drugs?

Good lawd dude your whole reply is fkn stupid! So your saying your whole school was a bunch of drug addicts lmao? I made it just fine also, but I don't want my child doing the shucks I done because there's a chance "he might make it also!" smdh...

Well it's not mandatory at my child's school, but I do believe the worthless dumb azzes adults (That are just using the system) on welfare should be tested for drugs. But how many times has that failed to pass?

I don't disagree, James. But saying that driving to school is a privilege is BS. If they're a legal driver, and school is compulsory then that's not enough to violate someone's rights, IMO.

IMO if you are against drug testing students you are part of the problem with this country and the downward spiral we are in.Are you okay with teenagers using drugs?good grief why would any parent be against drug testing?

I'd rather see them drug test the teachers first. But that was shot down when the AEA and dems controlled the legislature.
