Ive had this camera out about 3 months now, but ive been checkin it once a week or so. Its functioned flawlessly up until this last set. It took only daytime pics. The battery was at 32% so i changed the batteries and set it back out. Hoping for better results this time.

But im curious if anyone else has had an issue like this?

I haven't had that issue ... yet, but there is always the next time I check mine though.

It's the battery issue buddy. Mine will sometimes have less pics than usual, and less night time pics, when the battery gets down that low. Use good lithium batteries and try to check em before they get that low. Mine will last through SEVERAL thousand pictures before I have that issue, but for me, it's not a big deal whatsoever

Kinda makes sense. Thinking back on it, my total number of pics have been dropping the last 3 or so pulls. I went from 1200-1500 pics in a week period down to 300-400. We shall see when I pull it again this weekend. I suppose I will stat changing the batteries when it shows 50% or so just to be safe.

I had the issue. Called browning and they said they had had some issues with some of those cameras. As long as I had a proof of purchase they were going to replace it for free

Mine did the same thing and all it took was a software update to fix it. They walked me through it over the phone and it's back to work in the woods.

Yes sir, mine did this as well as other issues. I sent them to browning and they sent me back 2 new ones. Mine were 2014 models and they sent me 2015, no questions asked.

I have had 3 browning dark ops cameras for 3 years and haven't had a problem yet from them. I do run lithium batteries in them and they seem to work much better on lithium batteries than standard AAs.

I want to recall someone mentioning that on the Browning cameras, once they leave the "100%" the batteries will become depleted fairly quickly. I usually figure out they are depleted when it's totally dead (wasted week or two of corn).

Here is what transpired.

Dear Browning Customer,

Your trail camera was received and evaluated. No receipt was provided to show it had been purchased in the last 12 months to be covered under the warranty. Unfortunately, a repair cannot be made as we no longer have the needed parts available and the typical repair cost exceeds that of a new camera. We do offer an Out of Warranty Exchange Program that would allow me to exchange your camera for this year’s comparable model at a discounted fee.
I pulled up your previous paperwork and I shows the camera is still under warranty so I will replace it for you.
(She offered $50.00 off a $150.00 Camera)

Thank you

My reply:

This is the third time that I have had to send the camera back. There was never a question before as to proof of purchase. The first time the camera was repaired, the second time the camera was replaced, at least that is what you all told me. I enclosed your shipping label from the replacement camera as verification.
I ask that you reconsider this case in the nature of good business. This is not the only Browning product that I have purchased and I have spent good money on this camera not to mention shipping charges on three occasions now. At this point you have a very frustrated, dissatisfied, customer that will reconsider the purchase of a Browning product in the future, I respectfully urge you to do the right thing.
Thank you.

Yes lithium batteries fall off fairly quickly, an electrical engineer put a chart up on a yearly "what game camera to get" thread that showed just how fast the lithium batteries fall off when they start to burn out. Usually mine last all year and I replace them prior to putting them back out in the late summer/early fall and I don't have to worry about them until after turkey season. Every time that I use regular AAs I have to change (depending on the time of year) them about once a month.

good deal, glad they're taking care of you. That's the Range Ops camera you have. I have one and it isn't even close to the other browning cameras but for 90 dollars it's better than other brands in that price range. Upgrade to the strike force, it's a wonderful camera.
