A buddy came across a 6' international disc for $35. We want to replace all the discs (18" x 1 1/8" bore). Where is the best place to buy these? I can get them online for $12-15 but shipping is $100. Looking for a better way. Lowry in Boaz wants $26.00/each.

Yep, Agrisupply is where I bought mine. They are heavy so shipping is going to cost a good bit. As you can see from the price you already got, even if purchased locally, you're going to be paying what it cost to have them shipped here.

Agri-supply probably your best bet unless you can find another disc you can gets the parts you need off of. I've done it both ways. I have a 2nd disc, a "frankendisc" that I parted together out of 2 discs that we pull with my old mf 165 that works like a champ. Some greaseless bearings, some sealed.

...or do what I did when I bought my 3-pt post hole digger...take a day and just go pick it up. Even with gas to get there, I still saved over the shipping cost AND paid just over 60% of what one would've cost locally.

We did one a couple of years ago. Bought them locally. The disk had been used for a while with a broken disk bearing and the disk actually cut into the shaft. We disassembled everything (thank God for air tools) and then welded several long lines on the shaft and ground it down until the new disks fit correctly.

I wish they made disks with grease fittings. But that would make them last forever and they wouldn't sell as many...

Call around to local places. I buy a lot of replacement parts for my 57 model Taylor Way at the Kubota place in Cullman.

Same here. Just replaced one whole set and had to have an axle built by local machine shop.

The Cullman flea markets tractor guy sells them there.
They were around $22 for 18's.
If you buy online look at the specs and see what the thickness is. They vary from 2.5 to 4.75 thick. Thicker the better. Agrifab has the 4.5mm.
