Still a little hot for much action for my taste, but my feist is starting to get a little squirrely here of late. I'm looking forward to his second season in the woods. Last year he did Okay, but he really showed his potential a few times. I hope that he is a little more consistent this year.

I'm ready for some frost to knock the leaves off and put the snakes in their dens.
Good looking kid and dog you have. Looks like that boy enjoys hunting. Keep em in the woods.

We killed a rattler that had 12 rattles and a button yesterday so I'd hold off a little while

Yea I might turn loose this weekend with cooler temps coming. The boys haven't even cared to hunt in the afternoon when I let them out. But they are wearing the possums out. We've killed 5 or 6 in the last week within a hundred yards of the house. Keep that dog in the woods as much as possible this year and he will turn on.

Would walk over a naked woman to get to a gobblin turkey!

Knocked out 29 squirrels and 2 coon out to him last year. We left probably a dozen in hollows that we saw but couldn't kill, and we walked away from 30+ trees that were either slick or we couldn't find the squirrel in.

Last October, he'd mess around too much with cold scent, and in Jan and Feb, I could tell he was starting to cull a lot of that stuff out and focus on the hotter tracks. He's learning.
