Just got settled in here in Georgia. Hunting a bow only area. Sitting at the edge of a 20ish acre clear cut. 5 or 6 rutted out trails leading to a hardwood bottom. I'm sitting in the wide open, because there's only one tree I can get in. Been eyeing this spot for a while, just never went to the trouble of carrying a lockon back in here til now.

Good luck. Our season has been open a week today but haven't gone yet. 90-95 degree days is not fun to hunt in. Hopefully this front coming will bring some cooler temps.

First deer just eased through. Another 20 pounds on her and she'd be taking a ride in my truck

Good luck, I skipped Kentucky this weekend but I'm here for the TN opener. 1 4 point, still in velvet, another deer but couldn't see what it was and a doe with a fawn

I love deer hunting but I don't love it enough to hunt when we're still having summer like weather.

It's warm but a nice northern breeze is making it bearable this evening.

For some reason, this area sounds like a good afternoon spot.

It's one of those places that's good anytime the deer are moving I believe. My main problem was it was 100 degrees all weekend and deer movement was mostly at night. Second, the acorns in the bottom (white oaks) weren't dropping real good yet, and I didn't realize that til today. A good portion of the property has big Sandhills with 10-15' scrubby Texas looking oak trees (maybe sawtooth) that are dropping like crazy right now. I'll head back one weekend during November and hunt this spot again.
