Can any of you Macon/Russell county fellas tell me how the hunting is in the Little Texas area. Deer and Turkey mainly.

I lived in Little Texas for a year while finishing up at Auburn. Me and two guys I work with lived on 90 acres that belonged to my boss. Killed a couple of deer on that place, and hunted some of his other property. Pretty good deer and turkey numbers. Kind of depends on the property, and nieghbors, as with everywhere else. Where abouts in Little Texas? I still know a few of the landowners over there, but live across the state.
I think this about sums it up. There's likely not going to be overwhelming numbers, but if you get on the right property then it's likely going to be pretty decent hunting.

I appreciate the replies and thanks. I believe it's on Big Swamp Creek a little southeast of Little Texas.

My old boss has some land on Big Swamp. I was never allowed to hunt it, because he leased it out, but we did plant the food plots. That was the place to be from what I understand. From the trail cam pics it looks to have good deer and a few turkey. I just wanted a second and third option on the area. I appreciate it. I've only hunted Dallas, Perry, Autauga, Marengo, Hale, Lowndes and Wilcox counties. Never hunted the eastern side of the Black belt, if that's even considered Black Belt but I consider Tuskegee to be Black Belt.

I hunt not far from Little Texas on Chewacla Creek. We have some big deer on that drainage. It's close to some of th3 old Mann properties. Just depends on the location.

Not really blacbelt, sandy land, was peanut country, that's why it's named Little Texas. Lots of private managed land
