Just wondering if you filled those spots yet? Also, what your club rules are?

I have not filled the spots yet. I will be up to show a spot to a potential member of you are interested in meeting with us. Are rules are simple. We shoot good deer only. Respect others and their belongings. We go by the state rules. We pick out one personal spot the only that person hunts. Sign out at the sign in/out board. Don't drive in the patches to pick up deer, drag deer to the edge. Unless disabled. We park our ATVs about 200 yards from the patches. Unless disabled. We all make sure that everyone is safely back to the camp before leaving the camp. Respect is our number one. We all are in this together so we all decide as a whole on things. This is not a my way or the high way club.

We pick out one personal spot the only that person hunts.

So you can only hunt 1 spot an that's it?

If I agreed with you, we'd both be wrong.

You can only hunt one spot? Do y'all not have conflicts if someone picks a spot and nobody can hunt it but them all season? Seems like that would cause serious issues.

Sorry for replying late. There has not been any issues. It actually works out good. And you don't have to hunt that one particular spot. It just allows a place for you to go and you know no one will mess with you or mess up what you been working for. All food plots are first come. No member can lay claim to a good plot for the whole season. We still have a sign in and out board. We will have over a hundred acres per person. In times past. We have all talked about where we planned on hunting. Some times guys have said they want to hunt a stand I was thinking of going to. In those cases. Just I simply just stepped aside and let them have it. Nothing worth getting upset about.

I am a hunter who will find one place and hunt it regularly. Every now and again I will hunt a food plot. I normally let the others have first choice of food plots. But I will hunt that same spot year after year. So it would not be right to build a place up all summer long just for a person to get in come September and try to put a claim on that spot. Now we are not talking hundreds of acres for a person. We are simply talking about a small area where you place a stand that you bought with your money and hang. Watch the deer during the off season and feed.

I gotcha. So everyone has their own area with a feeder to hunt around?

I understand when someone is hunting a good buck and tells you about it, then I won't go into that area and hunt when that member is or isn't hunting at the club. I understand that.

Basically that's what we are getting at. We want to be a club where we can share our stories of what we seen. And not worry with another jumping in that spot when we spent extra money and time to make it what it is.

Good luck. Personally, I like looking at different scenery on a regular basis.

There is nothing saying you can not do so. There are many stands placed around the property. Any one can go to. Ever hunter at some point will switch it up during the season. I do.

What I think he's trying to explain is that his club is run like a "Florida" hunting club.

In those, each member has an "area" which varies in size depending on how large club is, how many members, etc etc etc. That members area is his alone. Only that member and his guests can hunt there. The balance of the land (usually at least half, sometimes 80%) is "club" land open to everyone, but usually still divided into area's or plots.

Believe it or not, these situations were not designed to scandalize the rest of you who hunt in traditional club setups. They came about because FL has been allowing baiting for a long time (if not forever). Member exclusive plots allowed each member to feed what and as much as he wanted, plant what he wanted, and pressure "his" area as much or as little as he wanted.

Many times when groups of guys who previously hunted FL clubs come to AL to lease land, they bring their style of club management with them. It seems like an alien concept to most of us, so I thought maybe I'd try to shed a little light on the theory behind it.

It may not be a way for every one. Most will over think the concept. But it works out with no issues. Every one seems to like the way it works out. If it did not work. We would not use it.

Where you are from is immaterial. The way your club is run is similar to what I was describing and I wanted to explain to some members here how they worked and why they were set up that way.

I said the your club was run "like" a Florida club, and it is. I don't care if you're from Mars.

If you'll read the responses to your thread, some people didn't understand why and were shocked anyone would run a club that way. I was trying to shed some light on it. Sorry.

I understand that. But my understanding is that some people don't like when Florida guys come to Alabama and lease land. Idk if it is true or not. I just did not want it to discourage anyone from joining in.
And I appreciate you trying to do so. Thank you.

Still you haven't explained who chooses spots first. Just not a fair process it sounds like for $1000 and new members are supporting those with prime spot(s). Seen this before and can't see you guys being able to keep new members if that is case.

Stop stereotyping FL Hunters. I never heard of such a ridiculous thing. You can say what you want but you can't bait in FL as you put it. It is a myth spouted by ill informed folks from other states. You can supplemental feed and hunt over a feeder maintained continuously for 6 months prior to hunting season but you can't dump a pile of corn in FL. Dumping a pile of corn is what people think they can do but it is not legal. Once you feed them year round, they just become nocturnal. It's not the easy kill people think it is. Only difference between FL & AL is we can shoot at the feeder if compliant where you have to hide it out of sight and 100 yards away. Dump a pile of corn in FL the week before season and get caught killing one and you could end up with trouble from FWC. Now you folks are educated on the real truth about Florida and feeders. Can't bait there either!

So putting corn in a feeder isn't baiting?

Not that I'm against the concept but I don't get your argument.
