Last night at a HS football game. My BinL, my friend, and I were all sitting together. We had 5 boys between us. All of them are sitting close by and behaving.
Well, this little boy ( 1st or 2nd grade) comes over to them and sets down. He immediately starts being rowdy. Picking, poking, and slapping at them. He did this to my friends boys several times and I had enough.
I looked down there and told him " hey, you need to chill out and behave." He said huh? "I said you need to chill out and behave if your going to sit here". He gave me a rude look. I said " don't you look at me like that boy, I ain't puttin up with it."
He said " I don't even know you!" I replied "I don't know you either and I don't care, if you're going to sit here your gonna act right or you can sit with your parents."
He looked like he saw a ghost. Probably the first time an adult had spoken to him like that in a long time. I don't care, I can't stand a misbehaving or smart mouth kid or parents who just let thier kids run wild.

His parents probably won't allow him to be spanked at school either. Spoiled generation trying to parent and failing miserably. Good work

My kids usually step in and do the correcting when they see me give that look to a kid.I guess they see it as less embarrassing to kindly correct their friends than have me crawl up on em like a bad case of poison oak.

I’m with you. I can’t stand that chit either. My two over hyper-active boys feel like they’re gonna put me in my grave some days trying to keep them in line….but by God until they do...they ain’t gonna be one of those rude little basturds that’s running around in public licking windows and eating paint chips off the wall. I guess it’s just easier to not make your kid mind and that’s why some folks don’t put forth the effort.

I guess it’s just easier to not make your kid mind and that’s why some folks don’t put forth the effort. It's just a lazy attitude. It makes it harder on them in the long run. A little discipline early on, prevents a lot of punishment, expense, law enforcement encounters and heartache later on. If only they had a crystal ball.

When my son was much younger he was wild as a buck. We were in Walmart one day and he kept grabbing crap and putting it into the buggy. I explained to him that I didn't have the money to buy that stuff right now.
We the crying bs was one. He cut one dying fit. I warned him once of what was going to happen. He didn't listen. So I yanked his but out of that buggy and busted his arse right there in the isle. About half that time a woman came around the corner and started saying something. Thanks to my temper I never missed a stroke and told her that if she didn't shut her mouth and leave she was next.
He learned a valuable lesson that day. He is about to turn 16 now and he will put his hands in his pockets anytime he goes into a store.
I would rather be tried by 12, than carried by 6.
