That where I want year round clover plots is a battle, year after year wit weeds and grasses. Granted, my clover in these plots when mowed and fertilized today looked good but one needs some 24db real bad.

Then I go to my other plots, some of which hasn't had clover sowed in 10 years, sprayed every single summer before planting and killed dead dead dead, yet several of these plots are the best looking clover plots I've ever seen.

And I've rotated some and it don't matter. It's like round up is fertilize to ladino clover. It dies, gets ripped up and comes back thicker every year.

And here's the best part. I had grass come up in a creek bottom clover plot two years ago. Clethodim wouldn't touch it. No idea what it was. I thought to my genius self that I'll mix the round up weak and it'll stun the clover but it'll bounce back but the grass had to go.

Guess what happened. I had to completely resow that field. Can't knock it back in the annual plots. Best part of this? I decided to switch sides last year in that bottom because of that grass. Again, no select herbicide would touch it. So I killed everything and ripped it up. You have to know the clover looks great this year on that side.

On the bright side, I got plenty of clover. Best camera bait I've found in the summer and winter for that matter.

Swamper you were probably dealing with what i call wire grass, it loves bottoms and cleth won't kill it. The key to controlling weeds and grasses in a perenial clover plot is to hit the plot the first of April when they first show up. Later on they will have gone to seed. I use gly at 1.25 qts/acre and it kills the grasses and the weeds. It doesn't kill clover that was planted in the fall and is well established.
