Dang it. I would love to have another 22 mag. Regret getting rid of the one I had.

Just messaged a buddy who's a store manager at the Athens location. He wasn't aware of any sales, but that it wouldn't hurt to check other stores.

A store here ran 10/22's for $199. Isn't that a good price ? It was Academy in Slidell.

Thank you whitetail35!!!!!! I just left south Huntsville with the savage 22 and Ruger American in 243. My kidos are set for the season now. One of my employees is buying the last 308.
Remaining stock is one ruger 30-06 and a couple of savage .17. The rugers were in the back and not in the case.

I was just at the South Huntsville store, picking up groceries. Should have looked. Doubt I have the money for it...but I still don't own a rifle!

Thanks whitetail but I may be with Acorn in needing a place to stay! Paid 199 for a 30-06at the Athens Walmart. The sale started today. They still had a 308 left when I got done, but someone was asking about it.

Its got to be a day that I'm at the fire department and can't buy a gun. I've been looking for the 243 ruger and need one!

I wish they had one in 7-08. I'd buy one and stick it in the back of the safe at that price.

The other one is one I have been gawking at for months. Marlin 1895 45-70. Normally $589 for $299. Too good to pass up. Bout to mix up a Tito in celebration.

Will they order you one for that price No, I talked to them, they aren't actually on "sale", they are on clearance, meaning they are moving out that item. So they won't be getting any more in.

I bought the 22 mag because it was way cheaper than distributor wholesale price. An hour later walking out the store I'm not sure it was worth it. I got a great deal but walmart is a stickler when it comes to protocol. It took 3 people working on it to get me out the door. Man you aint lying! I doubt I'll ever buy another one at a Wal-mart. What a freakin fiasco! Wasnt a soul at the gun counter when I got there, we had 40 minutes to spare, and I ended up making it to my nephew's ballgame with half of the first quarter over with. Good night.

Hoover claims to have a 30/06 and a 243 in the turn stile display..all of this was via landline..no eye contact made..yet I saw them yesterday. They were not marked for $199 so i asked and the guy said he was not sure to come back monday when some lady would be there. i wasnt looking to buy so i did not push any further.

30-06. I already have a M77 in 30-06, and didn't really need it, but that's too good of a deal to pass up. Did you go today? I called them last night, was planning on going this morning but the wife had other plans for us.

Same here they are on a markdown/clearance list. I picked up a 30-06 and savage B-mag. First time ever I was delayed so not sure what that's about as I am clean as a pin, other than a recent clearance re-investigation but that's over and I am good. Makes me wonder but I guess i will know shortly.

I was out the door in 15-20 minutes of me telling them what I wanted. That included the time it took them to walk to the back of the store and get it and the manager walking it out the door.

Also a guy was there before me got a marlin 45/70 for 299.00, think it was close to 600 regular price. Didnt even check other rifles while in the Columbus walmart. Now i wish i had. Still cant complain since i was able to fork out 2 ben franklins and get a 243 plus a dollar back
Two roads diverged in the woods and I took the one with deep ruts, hills and mud.It may be bumpy but WHAT A RIDE!

Wetumpka had one 308. Pville had 2 30-06 That was at 5 pm. I'd be willing to buy a 308 to trade for a 243 if some one wants.

Well I ended up getting one in 30-06. Bought a 3-9x40 Leupold vari-x 1 for 99 bucks (149-50 rebate) and a set of talley lightweight one piece rings for 38 bucks. All together I've got 365 bucks in this gun. I didn't need another rifle, but for that price I think you'd be crazy not to jump on it. Only drawback is scope and all this thing weighs a shade over 7 pounds. Imagine the recoil is going to be a little heavy. I had intentions of painting it and putting a Boyd's laminate on it, and i still may one day, but for now I'm gonna just hunt with it like it is and not care the least about dinging it up like I do my other rifles.

Where did you pick up the vx-1 for $149?

My neighbor bought the 308. He would be willing to trade for a 243 if anyone is interested
The secret to a long marriage is to keep on dating, just as you did before marriage. We have "date night" once a week. Hers is Saturday, mine is Thursday.
The only time a married woman gives those is if your not married to them!

If anyone bought one of the Marlin 1895 there is apparently a $50 rebate going on as well right now according to reddit might want to do some googling
