I know I said I would never do it but I am moving and I'm gonna sell my chicken coop. Some of yall followed my build thread on it a couple years ago so you may know a little about it. It is still in excellent shape. This is a very low maintenance coop. It has a 50 lb gravity feeder that will keep 6 to 8 chickens fed for a little over a month and I built the feeder to where the chickens cannot sling the feed out on the ground and waste it. It also has a 5 gallon waterer with 2 nipples that you fill via garden hose. I have to fill the water about every week and a half in the summer and every 3 weeks in the fall, winter , and spring. Say goodbye to having to feed and water chickens everyday! The egg box is on the exterior of the coop so you don't have to go in a coop with the chickens to get the eggs, you just lift the hinged roof over the nest box and pick out the eggs every day. This thing has endured some epic monsoons and the food has never gotten wet. The cool thing about this coop is, during the fall, spring, and winter, you can move the coop around your garden spot and the chickens will fertilize it. The only reason I am selling is I am moving to a subdivision and won't be able to have chickens. The coop is around 4 feet wide and 10 feet long and is easily transported on a 5x10 utility trailer. I have always kept all the wood coated with thompsons water seal. The wood that has ground contact is pressure treated and the walls of the hen house are made out of pallet boards in a board and batten fashion. I have a lot of work in this coop. I believe it took me 7 ten hour days to build it. This is one of the only chicken coops I have ever seen that actually makes your yard look better and isn't an eyesore. I am asking 500 dollars for it and I won't budge a penny.

This is a pic to show the effectiveness of the chickens fertilizing your garden. The coop was moved down the fence 2 weeks at a time in each spot. The rest of the garden never had the chicken coop on it prior to this. These are collard greens all planted on the same date.

Very nice.

I missed this build.

Chickens come with it? What type of chickens if so?

God Bless,

Yeah the chickens can come with it. They are just some mixed breed hens my neighbor gave me. There are a couple americauna(Easter eggers) and a few game hen/egg layer cross mutts

I remember the build thread. You did a great job on that, and I don't blame you for sticking to $500 for it. thumbup

Nice! Take it from someone who had a piece of crap coop from Tractor Supply....you get what you pay for. All the shortcomings of the one we have don't exist on this one! Great job!

I've got a legitimate question. What exactly is a chicken tractor?

A chicken coop you can move around so there is fresh ground under it to keep it clean and allow the chickens to fertilize the ground and also forage for bugs and seeds.

We sold our first house because it was too far away from family, friends, hunting and fishing, and because I'm tired of living at my wife's grandmothers house.
