Does anybody here go to Texas or Louisiana to Dove hunt? I have heard that some places in Texas and Louisiana are close to going to Mexico without the risks.

Been dove hunting near Ulvade TX, excellent hunting over crops and water tanks. But unlike Mexico, TX has a strict daily limit

Yep! The limit in TX is 15 just like here.(actually it was 12 when I hunted there, it was already 15 here) I hunted quite a few times there during the late season after we got through duck/goose hunting. We had a few good hunts, but it wasn't any better than shoots I've been on in AL.

I used to hunt every year in El Campo. About an hour SW of Houston. Never seen so many mourning dove and white-winged dove at one time.

Plenty of white wing and ring neck.

One of the guys with me in Argentina last week has a ranch in Texas. He said dove hunting out there is not like Mexico and in no way close to Argentina. Also the limit is 15. Certainly not worth the trip out there.

My old ranch near Abilene, I could have a limit in an hour. That is still with 5 shots to 1 kill ratio. And no limit on Collared dove.

Go to Argentina if you want to experience a true dove shoot.

I went on a dove shoot near Brownsville when I was 11 or 12 with my dad. Sunflower field next to an orange Grove as I recall. Shot 50 or 60 whitewings. It was the norm.
