captjab OP 10 point Joined: Dec 2006 Posts: 4,102 Gulf Coast	My riding lawnmower RPMs surge if I throttle it up to fast. It will also do it if I hit thick grass with it and will not recover on its own even if I get out of the thick grass. I have to disengage the blade and idle it down and then throttle up slowly to make it run right. It sounds like the choke is on when this happens. Any suggestions of what may be going on? I've already checked the muffler bearings and blinker fluid.

captjab OP 10 point Joined: Dec 2006 Posts: 4,102 Gulf Coast	Well, I changed the air filter, gas filter, sprayed the carb inside and out with gumout small engine choke and carb cleaner and cleaned the connections on the fuel shut off sensor. I'm not sure which one fixed it, because I did all of it before I tried it out, but it's running like new now. Thanks I'm going to run some sea foam through it next time I cut grass just to get it a little cleaner on the inside.
