David Langston over at Wac 'Em Archery Products was kind enough to send me some broadheads to test recently. I was excited to find a pack of 100 grain 4 blade Fixed heads in the mailbox one day. Although I was eager to test and review these broadheads both have been delayed by my busy schedule lately.

For the test I used a 2016 Mathews Halon 6 @ 59lbs and 28" mods with Buckslayer strings. Arrows were Easton Da Torch 400's w/2" vanes.

The 4 blade 100 grain heads have a 1 1/16" cut and were EXTREMELY Sharp. They weighed just a tiny fraction over 100 grains, but were well within the margin of error of the digital scales. I put them on an arrow spinner to test the axis and they spun perfect. I shot them out to 70 yards and flew exactly like the field points I was using.

These heads required no tuning at all. There were zero inconsistencies and and I feel like they flew as well or better than any broadhead I have ever tested. Penetration was excellent as well. With full disclosure that I was not shooting into a brand new broadhead target, I can tell you that these heads penetrated better than the Slick Trick Magnums I shot at the same time. Not exactly apples to apples since the Slick Tricks have a 1 1/8th cut but they were very impressive, nonetheless and I felt out performed the Slick Tricks. The Wac'em 4 blades Penetrated exceptionally well but did not hold up when shooting them through the 1/4" plywood that I used to simulate a shoulder blade. The ferules did well but I bent the blades badly. The blades held up really well in the broadhead target but are one and done in the shoulder blade so in terms of durability there are better options but those options may not fly as well or penetrate as deep. Sharpening was a breeze with the flat stone I use for my knife.

The price of these Broadheads is an affordable $39.99 and the kicker is that you get 4 broadheads instead of the usual 3 that most manufacturers sell. Replacement blades are only $19.99.

One of my favorite aspects of Wac'Em Broadheads is that they are based right here in Alabama. They are good ol' boys making Good Ol' Boy Toys likely right down the road from you.

These are impressive Broadheads! The best I have ever shot and after testing these extensively I can report that they will be staying on my arrows when I head into the woods Oct. 15th. I will post an update after they taste blood.

They make a deep six head as well but I have decided to hunt with the regular FMJ's or these Da'Torch arrows.

How can I get my own pack of free ones in my mailbox for "testing?"

I met David Langston at a 3-D shoot a few weeks ago, he's a super nice guy. Also looked to be a very good archer (he was shooting in the group right behind me)

David Langston is a class guy, diehard hunter and has done a great job with Wac 'em during the time he's been with them.

You should. Why spend more money for less broadheads to an out of state company. If you shoot these you won't be sorry.

That was only 20 yards. One of those is a field point. You wouldn't wanna try and group these things if you are a half ass shot. They would tear up all your arrows. I wasn't kidding about how well they fly.

If you are on the fence, give them a try. They are amazing.

I wasn't talking about the grouping. The arrows aren't in the target straight. Did you or your target move after the first shot?

Yes, plus I can't see that well any more so I walk up and looked at where the arrows were after each shot and then stood at a different place to shoot again.

I am glad you brought it up though so I can tighten up the controls next time.

Thanks for the review. I am not a fixed blade shooter but was interested in the Alabama based company part. Went to their site and seen that they have an expandable with a similar concept as Dead Ringer except the cost is $35 for a pack of 4. Should be at my doorsteps soon!

I just picked up 5 packs from David Friday. they will be headed to Africa with me August 24th. I used them last deer season. they are the sharpest blades that I've ever seen, also they are indestructible. I shot five deer with the same head last year ( two of them in the spine)and it still flies like a field point.

I started shooting them last year, and they fly great!
