I have had a lifetime license for 30 years it has only 4 digits. I know some folks that have them say the state just up and sent them a new one that will work for game check. Where do I get this new 10 digit number. I'm not mailing anything.

From their FAQ list.
Lifetime Licenses
I have a lifetime license that is broken and hard to read. Can I get a replacement? This can be done at your local probate office (you will receive a temporary license) or by mail with DCNR (download the application - click on the License menu). You can make a copy of your license so you will have the license in the field. There is no charge if you turn in your old card.

Where do I get this new 10 digit number. I'm not mailing anything. I guess they want us to go to the probate office and apply for a new one. Charles Kelley told me the one I already have was good for the rest of my life, so I'm sticking with that. I'll make a good faith effort to report anything I kill, but if their new system won't take it, I figure its their problem. And if they wanta arrest me, my lawyer is J. Noble Daggett and they will wish they hadn't messed with him.

Still don't answer my question. I had new one a few years ago with the original timber. How do you get a 10 digit.

They just sent me mine. I didn't know it was coming. I got it about a month ago.
I've always wanted my Hunter ID number on my Lifetime License. When I received mine, I called Montgomery and told them what I wanted. They asked me to send the new license back with a copy of my hunter safety card and they would put that on my license.
I got it back on Monday.
All that being said, I'd call them.

So, I guess it's the normal lying that government does to get more money and exert control!

They'll never get me again on anything they guaranty.

The best option is to call the Montgomery license number and request a new license. No cost unless you want to keep your current copy then it does cost $5. Some of you will get them without asking. We are working through duplicate numbers now. Chuck didn't say it was gonna cost the other night when he said keep yer old one and frame it if you want to. Mine is #59, bought the first year they went on sale, I intend on keeping it. And I've already paid for it many years ago.
