Cedar Creek Hunting Club in Bibb County is looking for a couple members. The club is just over 1750 acres and is 2 Westervelt properties on both sides of a road that joined together into 1 club this year. Price is $1500 per member and includes immediate family.

Good deer numbers and good genetics running around. Good road systems, but no camp house. Primitive site and room for campers if desired. Will end up with 15 members max.

Management system has been in place for several years on both properties. Mature bucks only. 24+ food plots (still to be determined though for this coming year) with shooting house on most. Active mineral sites.

Mix of various age clear cuts and various stages of pines with hardwood SMZs throughout property. Six Mile Creek borders the majority of one side of the property and has wet branches running throughout portions of property.

Contact Shane at 205-482-3661 for a tour of the property. Visit https://www.facebook.com/CedarCreekHuntingClub/ for some pictures as well.

I'd be happy to try to answer some questions on here as well.

That may be a question better suited for Shane. This is a new venture combining these 2 properties with 2 members from their side and 3 or 4 from our side. I don't think there's been a score requirement placed on bucks. Both groups had similar goals the past few seasons, and 3.5+ year old bucks are the goal this year I believe. As things are still being established, we're supposed to determine the exact rules together as far as buck and doe harvests and everything else. There are some good examples on that Facebook page of deer that were killed the past couple years though.

I don't think that helped at all with your questions, so I apologize but Shane may be able to shed some light on what he's thinking or planning to propose.

You may have trouble attracting members if you don't know what regs you're going by next year. If they think you're going to go 3 does and 2 bucks or something of the sort, and then you tell them 1 and 1 after they've paid dues, they won't be happy. Not saying this will happen! Just saying getting some written regs and rules for next year will help attract hunters.

Yeah I totally agree that it could be a cause for pause. I just verified with Shane though that his plan is to get the members together and put our ideas together to decide the management rules. I guess that's why he's being so selective on the new members to get like-minded folks together that want to grow big deer and make the land better for the long-term. The goal is to get members that will stay and work to get the results we want. I guess not having the rules written already is a risk he's willing to take.

It's in Six Mile just off of Hwy 25 about 20 mins west of Montevallo.

Yes, yes it is haha. It takes an hour and 15 mins to get there from my house (actually in Margaret). Some good deer running around so I manage to make the trip.

I skinned a few deer in that shed, about 10 years ago. It was great club, bonecollector knows that land well.
Tcencore308 killed a big 6pt that looks just like that tall 7pt.

I'm not a member but looked at the club with Shane. For those of you that like hunting clear cuts it has a lot of it.

Hunted that property back when it was called SixMile Hunting Club. Hunted there until club disbanded and property was split. Saw it go from dog club with brown it's down rules all the way to stalk only and don't shoot unless your shoulder mounting the buck. Saw tall pines go and new ones grow back tall again, probably not much of that soil I haven't stepped on. Looks like it's still splitting out quality deer. Good luck on the upcoming season.

That's really cool to have been through all those transitions. And if there's any consistent producing spots you want to share, feel free to shoot me a PM haha.

Bump. Still needing a few members. Just put out several hundred pounds of trace minerals, salt, and dical mix this past weekend to freshen up a lot of the mineral licks.

Saw your post. Are you guys still looking for any members? Looking for a club to join for my wife and I to hunt on some. I am a lifelong hunter and she is only three years a newbie to the sport. Thanks for any information.

Yes, still looking for a few members. This club is great for having family hunt as well. Several of the members have kids that hunt. We've also had a few wives hunt it some as well. Mine hunted with us my first year (was pregnant last season though) and was able to kill a doe. Lots of opportunities for shooting houses (20 or more) on cut overs and food plots, as well as several double ladders and tripods to fit however y'all like to hunt.

If you have any specific questions, let me know or give Shane a call at the number in the first post.
