Looks like you have been busy I've been at work brother! Amanda sent me pics as it was being pushed today. Probably another half a day of pushing then dress it up and we'll be done. We got an inch of rain this afternoon and it filled up enough that Rio could swim 15 yards across the pond on retrieves. It may be a week before they are able to finish the pushing.

Looks like you got the requisite dead tree for em to light in. Got a powerline nearby?

Yea AC that dead tree will be gone as soon as I get a day off. If you look directly over the dozer in the first pic you can see a power pole. The line cuts the field in half.
Straight over the dozer in the second pic is where we're going to build our house at this coming spring!
All my dad or wife could talk about this afternoon was how many doves were already using the fields. Hopefully now with the added water I'll be able to hold them through season.

Aww man. I can't believe you gonna take out the dead tree. But I understand. You got a powerline and that's just as good. I ain't shot doves in years (I need to remedy that) but a pond, powerline and a gravel road add up to a pretty dang good spot. Looks like you got a masher in this one. Good luck.

Looks good Hank! Hope you get on them good this year! Got mine all planted and getting some decent rains on them. Already birds using it and getting the standing wheat I left for them. If they stay I will have to get ya'll up for a hunt! Hopefully we'll both have them this year and we can swap hunts. I know I've got plenty of birds right now but that's normal. They just always leave when it gets so dry. I hope we've got that problem solved now and can hold birds throughout season. If nothing else comes out of it Rio is enjoying the pond. Lol! He's been swimming every afternoon when I get home from work. We're gonna finish the spillway first thing in the morning and plant millet all around it with some grass seed on the dam also. And since I've got a couple days off next week I'm going to build a 16 x 20 deck out over the water.

We did get a good rain Tuesday afternoon but it's been dry since then. I planted millet around it Saturday and I'm seriously considering putting a sprinkler on it to try to help it get established before we have another afternoon blowout and it washes.

Hasn't rained at the house in about 3 weeks, now. Few popcorn showers closeby, but none actually made it to my yard. All my fruit trees have started whistling for passing dogs!

Rain just chased me in off the bush hog! Thank goodness!
Troutbum there isn't anything close by for me to pump water out of.
There must be a pretty good seep going into the pond because late yesterday afternoon we looked at a few small mounds of mud from the temporary dam he built and this morning they were under water.
