I'm the exact same way. I don't even buy the 9 line apparel kind of stuff because I don't feel like I earned it.

I don't have a problem with it as long as it depicts just a branch. When you get into units (SEALs, Force Recon, GBs, etc) that gets a little touchy with me. none of those guys in those units would ever sport one around.

Same for me. It would be different if it was a uniform but I see no problem with logos and slogans.

Not exactly an apples to apples comparison.

Athletes don't go into harm's way to protect our country.

Again, I'm not gonna bash anyone who chooses to buy or wear that kind of stuff...I'm just not going to

And then if you are wearing it and a GI said were you in the Special Forces, you could say "no, but I sure support what the hell they do."

It won't be a problem, Driveby.

Do y'all feel like it's just showing support by wearing something like that or do you feel it's in a way disrespectful?

Was thinking the same thing about the respect issue last week while looking at shirts.

I ended up just buying a grey Under Armour "support the troops" shirt.

You're doing it right. And making other folks aware that your BIL is a soldier. You should be proud and they should be proud of him too.
