22 runs between Clanton and Maplesville and 15 connects the two cities. Isabella is just North off 22 about halfway between Clanton and Maplesville.

Good area. The closer to Isabella/Maplesville you are down 22, the better the hunting will be.

Why is that? I hunt on the eastern side of 65 in Chilton County closer to Verbena and it does seem that the population numbers are a little lower than you would expect considering how forested the area is. Why does it get better the further west you go? Soil?

Sorry, I should have clarified. I'm not familiar with east of 65 at all. I was simply referencing HWY 22 and having experienced hunting closer to Clanton (East) vs. buddies that have hunted Isabella/Maplesville (west) and results from each. There is some Ag land around Isabella off of 191 and 15 and that certainly could be responsible for better deer health and numbers.

I have hunted in that area for the last five years. What would you like to know about it?

South or north? Me or Trox may be able to tell you something about it if hayman can't.

Would walk over a naked woman to get to a gobblin turkey!

I don't know if is the same land.
But there was a 300 acre tract posted in the mule trader last year. They wanted 10$ an acre.
That tract of land was just off hi way 22.
Near the dirt raceway track on left side going to maplsevillie.my uncle hunted it around 4 to5 years ago.they said it was loaded with deer, but not many big buck,s were taken. I don't know if it is the same land. But if it is I would give it a chance.

Was it RMS land?I have a lease about 3 miles off 22 on 15.We had another 192 acre tract we let go there a few years ago and I heard the guy that picked it up was letting it go this year.

Not sure...the feller leased it out before I got a chance to go look at it..did it have 5 or 6 fields and houses? he said this land did.

Generally a decent area for deer. More quantity than quality. Plenty of turkey though. Of course it all depends on the particular tract, especially when you are talking a small one.

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

Nah this tract only had 2 very small fields with old shooting houses and it is RMS land so it would be a bid process.
