central ala,
Some of us old timers just received a new lifetime license. How did they know I was still alive? If I were dead and they sent the license would I be counted as a hunter? Used in the Game Check survey toward total hunters? Hope I made my questions clear enough.

They don't know a lot of things, Centralala. That's true for any huge bureaucracy.

I got a new one Friday.

I was curious if anyone else got theirs. I guess they had to to give everyone their 10-digit number.

I've had mine for 30 years. I had mine replaced about 5 years ago because the original had split in two. It has 7#'s on it. Are you saying I should be getting a new card now? I ask because I moved out of state earlier this year. Is my card still good?

I came, I saw, so I killed them all......Vern

We are not asking for a new license. They are just sending them if your license doesn't have enough id numbers. As far as in your case, I don't know.

my dad has lifetime, but has moved to Little Rock and then to Nashville, I suppose I should tell him to contact someone about it.

I have moved since I bought mine. How do they know where to send it? How do people even know they need a new one without aldeer?

I didn't think of that. I live somewhere else than when I bought mine but they found me.

I was asking more trying to get a grasp on how they figure # of hunters. Between people with lifetimes that have died or moved and don't come back, under 16, over 65, property owners, military with leave papers, etc., not sure how they could get close to the number of hunters. I was just curious how it works.

I called the Alabama Game and Fish at 334-242-3486 about getting a replacement license on my lifetime license. She e-mailed a form to me, I completed it and sent a copy of my drivers license with the old hunting license and form back to the address in Montgomery. She said they will send me a new hard copy license in the mail.

They use the drivers license database for your address, so if you have moved within the state they should send you the new 10 digit lifetime license if you have renewed/updated your DL info. I'm not sure if they can track you down if you have moved out of state, you might want to contact them. A lifetime Alabama license is still good regardless of where you now reside. (one of the perks of obtaining a lifetime license) You just have to be a legal resident of this state when you initially obtain the license.

My father bought me mine for my 16th birthday. Best gift ever. My license only has 4 digits. I have lived in the state continuously all my life, should I be on the look out for another? Or should I call?
