I've never hunted out there, but from riding through there and seeing several on 27, and also hearing a guy that lives close by talk about trapping them. I would say at times there are a bunch. I've also heard that the gw ride around and shoot them at night. A fella said he seen 2 pickup trucks full of dead hogs one night. That might explain the varying opinions.
If you can find a water source, probably some hogs around.

There is a ton of hogs on Rucker. As with any Federal Instalation there is some hoops to jump through. Go here and about half way down there is a link for hunting and fishing regulations. That is the regulation that they use for Rucker. I haven't hunted hogs there but I know that they do trap and I am pretty sure that you can hunt them. Check out the reg, it will let you know.

Hog hunting is allowed. Read the regulations, they are really not that big of a deal.
Good luck

They'll give you a good topo map at the MWR office that has the zones clearly printed that makes it easy to get around. They have a lot of hogs, but they got harder to hunt a few years ago when the GW were riding around shooting them from vehicles. They so much as hear a rock pop under a tire and they'll be gone.

Went last June. Man it was HOT! Like in the 100's. We did not see a thing, but signs were all over the place. The regulations weren't a big deal and I am a civilian. We stayed at the RV campsite on base (Brother is Army). It was a blast and all the MPs (military police/guards) and locals were more than happy to tell us where they saw hogs. Be prepared for helicopters flying overhead all the time. Some zones are bow only and I think shotgun. Most others are gun/bow. My son and I bought crossbows, 5.56, and 308. That way I could hunt all the zones. Wear good boots. You will walk for miles in mud/water and tons of snakes. I forgot to mention, the gang at the MWR office are first class. They will tell you everything they know. Also they rent walk in refrigerators for like $10 bucks a day if you pop one.....or two
