If you had to pick one for hunting purposes. Which would it be? Also for the guys with jeeps, samurai, yotas, ect. Do you feel limited with what you are able to do as far as scouting and basic preseason activities as to what you would be able to accomplish with a UTV or 4wheeler? Not looking to spend more than $12k at the MOST.

I'd love a jeep for general recreational purposes, but for strictly a hunting rig, I don't think you can beat a Samurai on 33's. Heck, they are literally smaller than many UTV's.

Back in the day I had a non-restored 1972 Suzuki LJ 20 (2 stroke, 2 cylinder, oil injection, with big Gumbo Mudders)...would go anywhere and through most anything that jeeps and heavier rigs could not go through. It was so light it would "float" in nasty delta mud. Here is restored pic..not the one I had  Later on I had some buddies with Samurai's....would handle most anything too.

I've owned several CJs and even more Toyotas. Never had a Sammy. Jeeps are OK but require much more wrenching than Toyotas. Toyotas are waaaaaay tougher. I'll vote for a SWB, first gen Toyota with bout 12" bobbed off the bed. Lockers and old school Buckshots. Hmmmmmmm, that sounds familiar. The best all around with the least amount of mods is a Toyota, period.
UTV's cost too much for what ya get IMO, and ya can't even drive them to Wal-Mart.

The problem I have with a samurai is that 1. they are hard to find, 2. Most you have to work on to get running and if you are not mechanically inclined they you are screwed. Id love to have one one day however.
Only accurate rifles are interesting.

I can get to just about any place I need to in my Toyota Taco. It's a lot quieter than most 4-wheelers and our deer listen up when there is a 4-wheeler in the area. They don't pay too much attention to our trucks.

I always love hunting out of my Jeep except there's not much room. And have to bring my rack on back. take the back seat out and put a receiver hitch on the front, I put all gear in the back and stands and deer on the rack in the front. Enough room for 2 hunters and all gear in the jeep except stands and animals. And if you have to move to the basket to the back after the hunt it is no problem. I have hunted out of mine for 10 years like this and it has worked great.

I have a hard top samurai and it works good for me. I removed the back seat and built a shelf with pull out drawer. The shelf is padded on top and gives me a place to strap two rifles down and then throw my jacket and extra cloths on top. I can put my summit treestand and boots under the shelf and lock everything up. I have a receiver on back for hauling a deer. This works pretty good as the Sammy is small enough to go just about anywhere an ATV will but it has heat and can be locked with my gear inside. I also have an RV hitch on front and some magnetic lights so its easy to hook it to the truck if I am hunting a good ways away plus there is no trailer behind me to prevent turning on small roads or at gates.
I bought this one off ebay from Utah so it wasn't rusted out. I had to put a clutch in it and then rebuilt the engine two years ago when the oil pump quit but its pretty reliable now and a good setup.

Id love to have one one day however. Running gear is light, all the really bad ones I've seen had Toyota diffs under them. Springs are under the axles so to do a good lift and get spring clearance you must do a spring over , makes those little fellers a serious roll over threat in the mountains. To get a Sammy to pull bigger rubber like it should , there must be some gearing mods as well.
