They gobbling pretty good but not coming to calls worth nothing. Pretty much spot and stalk hunts. Gotta do what you gotta do I guess.

It all looks the same on the ridge. I haven't been up there in a few years, but it is about time to make another trip. I love those hills.

We are in Chadron/pine ridge NF. I set up 50 yards from 1 yesterday gobbling at every call. Dang turkey dropped out rite behind a fallen tree. Gobbled twice and vanished. Been alot of stories close to that between us 4 this trip. I was about ready to limb one. Lol finally saw this 1 strutting. Watched where he went in woods and ran to next opening. Luckily he walked rite out like skrippted.

That is a very familiar storyline. Pretty much the same thing we've experienced. I did have two Longbeards yesterday morning wanting to come to us but their boss man was across the gulley and above us. Everytime they started down the hill to us the boss man would march down the hill right behind us and gobble and the other two would shy back up into the corn field. That's the only birds that even thought about responding to a call so far.
