One is choosing to keep the 2nd amendment in place (Trump) and the other is erasing it from the constitution (not a vote for Trump).

This is what you need to be thinking!

Bill- you admitted earlier in this thread you had misread the republican nomination. Maybe you are misreading the candidate too?

I don't know...I don't trust any politico anywhere but I can't help think back to the late 70's when people were calling Reagan a pinko commie. Is the analogy apt? I'm not predicting anything! Ha!

You have been WRONG about Trump too many times to count, so are you MAYBE wrong about him again?

Do you believe that Hillary is going to appoint someone to the supreme court that will remove the 2nd amendment?

So your choices are:
1) Not voting Trump and Hillary will definitely take your right to bear arms away.
2) Vote Trump and trust that he won't appoint someone that will take away your guns.

I am going to go with the guy with the CCW permit, & his family hunts not to take away my guns vs Hildabeast that I know will.

The analogy between Reagan and Trump isn't close to reality. Reagan was never a liberal, only a democrat.

Campaign rhetoric is never a good indicator of how a candidate will govern but their political history is very reliable. I don't vote for liberals, even the ones on the Republican ballot.

Reagan banned guns, legalized abortion as a governor and granted amnesty. How is that not liberal?

You just register to vote in Alabama , you do not register as a Dem. or Rep. Anyone who tells you "I'm a registered ________" in Alabama is full of bull.

You guys vote your convictions and I'll vote mine. It's not me that Trump supporters need to worry about. It's all the conservatives in the swing states that you need to be convincing to set aside their core beliefs.

You haven't seen me on here defending Cruz in quite awhile because I've been disappointed in him stooping to Donalds level. I could have still voted for him based on his record but I wasn't going to shame anyone who didn't support him, either. I'm not so threatened by people that don't think like me that I have to beat them into compromising for my benefit.

Finally, Just because an elitist thinks it's ok for him to own a gun doesn't mean he thinks it's ok for you to have one. A man with no core beliefs can be swayed to any position as evidenced by him changing course on things almost daily. The fact that he said not even a month ago that 2 of the 3 top priorities of federal government should be education and Healthcare should scare the heck out of any conservative regardless if you believe he's changed on all his other liberal beliefs.

I.looked it up and you're right. My father is under the impression he registered as a democrat over 50 years ago and I even thought I had registered as a Republican but the state says there isn't even a mechanism in place to register for either party.

Let's face it...a guy who spouts off BS about Senator Cruz's father being involved in the JFKS assassination? Really? You expect him to win the general?! Good luck with that.

I know that I won't be voting for Donald or Hillary

I still don't understand you on this.

My best attempt at an analogy everyone would understand;

We are going to the hunting club this weekend and I ask everyone if they want steaks, burgers or chicken? Everyone in the camp voted burgers and chicken except for you, so I bought enough burgers and chicken for everyone. When we get there, instead of picking burger or chicken, you choose to go hungry because you say you'll only eat steak

Just pick burger or chicken. Don't go hungry

Well, if you believe you are allergic to burgers & chicken... if you believe that trying to eat them will make you sick to your stomach... yeah. Go hungry, because you aren't an idiot.
