I got the Scentlok Mid-Season System, no layers for when its warm, and one layer when it gets cold.

I love Cabela's Mt050 clothing. You can catch it on sale. I bought mine for almost half off a couple years ago.

Long handles are a must. I don't believe in any of that scentloc stuff. Just a waste of money if u ask me.

Merino wool base layer, good gore or equivalent soft shell outer bibs and jacket with zip out liner. Add chemical heat packs in your boots and in your pockets with a good head cover. Take a good pillow and curl up ; )

Speedo. No joke, we have 2 ladder stands that can be seen from each other. Last January, I was hunting in one and was watching a buddy in another. I looked at him thru bino's and he had his shirt off reading a book.

Agree with Merino wool base layer. Don't forget the wool socks.

I have some underarmour and think it works pretty well. Before you say I haven't had anything else....well yea I have. I also got scentlok insulated bibs and 3in1 parka. Much rather wear the underarmour.

Merino wool base layer. Outside, some sort of quality bibs and parka that are wind proof . Put whatever ya want between them , really doesn't matter. Poly pro liner socks with heavy wool outer socks and pack boots.

You can carry the parka to the stand. Sweating is BAD.

Buy once, cry once.

I've got Columbia and Hydro Fleece I bought 15-20 years ago and it is still keeping me warm and even more importantly dry. Cabela's Whitetail Extreme (Mt050) is what I would buy today for deer hunting. It is pretty comparable to Hydro Fleece

Make sure it has Gore-Tex and Thinsulate both on the label. You won't get 10 years out of anything that's DWR. You can wash the Gore-Tex with the proper soap and it will likely fix it if you get a leak or at least this has always worked for the items I have owned.

Mine have seen heavy use. Mud up to your rear, ice, blowing snow and generally miserable conditions. I bought the good stuff back then because I duck hunt. This new stuff is just hiking clothing with a camo pattern on it. Some of it is good as well, but I'll stick with what I know will last for years.

No government employees were harmed in the making of this mess.

I've got Sitka gear and I love it. I use Smartwool baselayers, best stuff for the money imo
For Not so cold - traverse layers, and early season whitetail
For cold- fanatic jacket and stratus bibs

Accumulated all of mine over time, bought most of it used. Still pricey buts it's amazing stuff

For the coldest days I use Sitka Gear fanatic bibs and jacket. They're wind tight and warm as all get out. I bought a compression sack that I stuff the bibbs/jacket and my merino wool base layer in and clip onto my pack. Heading to the stand I usually dress very light, sweats and a t-shirt or something thin. When I get to my stand I towel off with unscented wipes then put the merino base and heavy Sitka gear on ... Love it, all dry and warm, can't beat it

I don't want to pass quietly into the night. I want to slide in sideways kickin and screamin
Life really is awesome ... Soak it up while you can ...
