I'm looking for any type of access to turkey hunting this spring. A turkey membership, a full turkey lease, or any type of agreement to hunt turkeys with my 12 year old son. I had a few places that just fell through at the time of me to write the check. Acreage doesn't matter, 200 to 10.000 acres. I just want to be in the woods in the spring and not have to travel all of the way to Butler or Mississippi. I have places there but I need something closer. What do clubs charge for turkey only memberships?

It all depends on the cost of the lease and if the turkey hunting is any good. If there is any turkey habitat such as mature timber and not all clearcutted pine plantations, then that factors in. I've seen turkey leases go from 15% to 25% of the lease. If it is riverbottom hardwoods with mixed timber and cuts I have seen it go for $5 per acre.

I am big advocate for taking your son with you and knocking on doors of farmers and landowners. You might get lucky and get permission to hunt a turkey heaven. I've had success with itm and killed my best buck to date off a property that I just knocked and asked. That being said, after I refinance the house, I'll be looking for a club.
