Is it illegal to notify the public where a road block was located at? If it is, what is the reason for it to be illegal? Also, wouldn't you consider a road block to be a source of harassment from police agencies? They are stopping you without probable cause right? One more question, if you were approaching a road block and turned around in a drive or median before reaching the road block and went the other way, would that be considered illegal? If so, why?
I had much rather be tried by twelve than carried to my grave by six!!!!

Question 1.........Depends on how you do it. Calling with a cell phone, posting on a blog etc., is not illegal. Flashing headlights at oncoming cars could technically be illegal if someone wanted to pursue it. I can't tell you specifics of the law off of the top of my head, but I know troopers that have enforced a law about improper use of lights or something like that. I've never enforced it and don't plan to.
Question 2..........The courts don't consider it harassment if it is done correctly and the reason for it is properly worded. The specifics can get too complicated for a quick and easy answer.
Question 3.........If you break a law to turn around to avoid a roadblock then you can be stopped. Remember it is illegal to do a U-turn (and U-turn has a broad definition), back into a roadway (such as from turning around in a driveway), stop in a roadway for no reason, and alot of other actions that are commonly taken by motorist. This gives them the reason to stop you. But, if you can avoid the roadblock without committing an offense, then no, they can't stop you. The act of avoiding a roadblock in and of itself is not an offense and therefore not reason to stop someone.
Most roadblocks are located at places where you would pretty much have to commit an offense to avoid it. Not all, but most.
After 25 years in law enforcement it still amazes me the number of drunks that will pull up to a roadblock, full of booze up to thier gills, and ask something like, "where's the wreck?" or "is anybody hurt bad?" or my favorite "what's going on"?

That is fine and perfectly acceptable as long as they did that to all the cars. In other words they must follow a pattern. You can not stop cars at random. You can say we will stop all on this side for thirty minutes and then swap, or you can stop every third one, or something like that. You absolutely can't say something like I'm going to stop those that look like they don't have a driver's license, or those driven by women, or only red sports cars.

If you’re a common sense person, you probably don’t feel you have a home in this world right now. If you’re a Christian, you know you were never meant to.

I like the ones the Troopers use on interstates. They put up a sign just before an exit that there is a drug roadblock one mike ahead.....and then put the actual roadblock at the top of the exit........

I had a Hoover officer tell me the other day that it isn't illegal to do a u-turn as long as you aren't impeding traffic.

Also, wouldn't you consider a road block to be a source of harassment from police agencies? I sure do. The more drunks and non-insured that get harassed, the better.
