Yesterday my oldest son (14) wore a Dixie outfitter shirt to school with a small confederate flag on the left front pocket and nothing but a picture of a largemouth bass on the back. Well the principal made him go to the band hall get a school shirt and take his Dixie outfitter shirt off and put it in his backpack. The school said it was a sign of racism well I wasn't to pleased with them telling my kid what he can or can not wear so I sent him and my two other kids to school today with their confederate shirts on. About lunch time I got a call we now have a meeting at school tomorrow and guess what daddy is going to be wearing yup Dixie outfitters shirt bet they're going to love me

No it seems like someone who is not willing to bend over and have political correctness shoved up his @$$. Good luck to you sir. Do some research beforehand and find out if a student would be allowed to wear the symbols of African culture that might be considered racist or threatening to your son. Find out in advance what those symbols mean and those organizations represented (Black Panthers for instance) stand for. Rules are rules and if they are EQUALLY APPLIED then I say more power to them. If they are not equitably enforced then something (like you are doing) needs to be said. Please update us in what happens. Good or bad. Take your time walking into school and take your son to school in the morning if you have time. Take a CLOSE look at how EVERYBODY is dressed.

The left lane is for the the purpose of moving the flow of traffic forward regardless of the speed limit. If your impeding the flow of traffic get your ass in the right lane. It's really that simple...

assuming there are clear guidelines in the schools dress code prohibiting such things, going to the administration looking for confrontation will do nothing to help your situation. And in the long run, they're likely to take their frustration out on your kid.
you agreed to follow the school's dress code guidelines when you sent him to the school so if it's clearly prohibited, you're going to do more harm than good.
pick your battles.
