The modern careless turkey hunter is way more detrimental to hunting quality than any population fluctuation (decline). My 2 cents.

Not that I can throw stones out of a glass house - I can't. If you hunt long enough, you're gonna do things and be mad at yourself. But some of our newest hunters are on a different level in regards to bad habits and practices.

I absolutely agree,I have seen grown men do some real ignorant junk this year(myself included),but driving down the road, getting out of there truck, and running a box call at 5:45 really takes the cake!!!

I would rather be turkey hunting

Yes indeed.

I never, ever use a turkey call to strike a gobbler.

If you want to yelp, sit down in a good spot and blind call.

Golf carts and TV shows have screwed up turkey hunting.

I try not to use anything to shock gobble if I can avoid it! I always hope the first they hear from me is when I yelp from the base of a tree 100 yds away!

x2! I try to be quite as I can on public land especially later in the season. Heard the Jackson county owl hooter today. I swear he blowed it 30 times in 10 mins at the same bird.

Yep, I'm not big on shock gobbles, either.

Go with him and show him the right way to hunt them!

I'm hoping he gets discouraged and quits grin. Hate to be that way, but I'm peculiar about my turkeys

i thought the young dude at my club would do the same, think the little basturd got him a 22
