9" beard, 1 1/4" and 1 3/16" spurs.

Roosted him yesterday at dark and set up this morning on edge of big field with decoy. Watched him fly off roost and land 80-100 yards to my right. Once he seen decoy he strutted all the way in to about 40 yards and I smoked him!

I don't get to hunt much back at home with my dad, and I got to call him one up on Saturday afternoon. Wish I could enter it for the contest... 21 lbs, 1 1/4 hooks, 10 in. beard. He's called up so many for me over the years growing up, so I was glad I got to return the favor. Now I'm in the driver's seat and I'm hoping the weather will be better this coming weekend.

I held out on taking time off work opening week to save it for the first of April. I plan on hunting Alabama 2 days then heading to Texas for there opening day and hunting 2 days there also. I can't wait.

I'm heading to Texas for the northern opener as well. Be my first trip there. Then on to Kansas for 20th time and Nebraska

Well, I got some good news yesterday. Finally tracked the landowner to my local spot down and they'd changed out the locks due to some UTV riders taking advantage. I guess my turkey hunting just slipped his mind. Had a talk with him and got me a new key so I'm good to go. Now if I can get my back straightened up I'll be after 'em.

North west Texas next sat sun mon. Back to Alabama to hunt the next sat sun mon. Then Arkansas the next weekend.

Killed a good one over the weekend. 1 1/4 Spurs and 11 inch beard. Got it posted up in entry section.

I got in from TX last night . Shoulda really killed 3 birds but only ended up with one myself, the guy hunting with me also killed one.

Since the 2 score updates we've been sitting at 4th place both times. Not bad at all out of 21 teams!

I had a strutter at 40-50 yards this morning with a hen, but there was alot of brush an sapplings inbetween us so I tried to be patient for a descent shot but they ended up walking away from me

Ive killed some and haven't posted them.......only posted the one because he was a stud. Gonna wait on a few more bigger toms before I go to the trouble of uploading pictures. The toms are on fire right now. Buddy and I killed 4 this weekend on National Forest

I killed another two year old yesterday morning... about the same size as the other so not going to enter it.

When does the contest end? It's prob posted somewhere but I haven't seen it. I dont wanna miss loading up a couple more toms. Thx

I think they wait until the end of May, when all the other seasons out west are over.
