Im probably fixing to buy a pair of these and was wondering if anybody else wears Redwings.

Are they worth the money? I need a size 15 and must be safety toe. The vast majority of steel toes rub the crap out of the outside of my big toe. These are supposed to have an extra wide toe area so it doesn't rub.

I currently wear a pair of Sketchers and I can't even feel the steel toe, but they are falling apart after about 8 months.

I was hoping the Redwings would be much better boots.

I like the Keen Milwaukee plenty of room in the toe box.

I wear Redwings but I only wear the Made in USA Pecos model.

I love both pair. Redwings when I'm back in the States and Milwaukee when I'm in the field.

Check out the Timberland Pro work boots. I too wear 15 1/2. They have to kill an extra cow to make me a pair of leather work boots. I have a pair that has lasted me well over a year and they're real comfortable.

I came, I saw, so I killed them all......Vern

Not a fan of the Pecos boots. I am currently wearing Sketchers also. Timberland pros seem to be popular with our workforce. We work in a fairly clean environment but cover 8-14 miles walking per shift.

All I have worn for the last 10 years is pull on waterproof Redwings not sure the model number IMO the best boots you can buy. I wear the non steel toe but they do make the them in steel toe.

I bought red wing rubber boots and they have been the warmest, most comfortable rubber boots I've ever owned.

Redwings are really good boots if you get the American made ones.

I have iron Rangers, 903 lace ups, pecos pull on 1170 and 1132's. The pecos pull on's are exposed to blood, water and acid almost daily and have survived 4 seasons. I won't buy anything else!

I split my time between the office and the field and these are the best boots I've owned. Period. I like the big toe box and once I got them broken in they are as comfortable as any pair of shoes that I have.

Carolina Wedge Boots

The only reason that I mention these is that they are all leather inside and out [other than the sole of course] and the Redwings that you are thinking of purchasing are made up of several materials and in my experience boots like that tend not to age well, whereas all leather boots just kind of get better and more broken in over time and when the sole wears out you can just have them re-soled.

Check where they're made. Some red wings are being made in china. You can still get em made in USA. I wouldn't buy any Chinese boots.

The ones I am considering are American made. I went to the Redwing store in Chattanooga. They measured my feet and ordered me a few pairs to try. I'm going up there in the morning to get a pair.

** I just looked back at the link and saw that those boots are made in China. That's not the pair I looked at earlier. The ones I saw were made in Merica.

redwings are good. picked up a pair in texas around '03 and finally put 'em to rest around 2011. get leather bottoms and when they wear down, take 'em to a shoe repair place and get 'em resoled.

Im not a big fan of the Keen that I have. They are similar to the ones you posted, but a shoe instead of a boot. The tongue looks like leather but is actually vinyl. I've had them for a few months now and the outer layer of the vinyl is flaking off and looks terrible. But they do have a boxy looking toe with plenty of room in it.

As for durability, the best boots I ever had was a a pair of Rockies. They survived everything until a lab chewed them to death. But they were not the most comfortable boots I ever had.
