I remember the shuttle on the 747 but does anyone know who they loaded and unloaded it? It had to be a massive crane. I bet that process was impressive.
I love my country, but don't trust my government.

I didn't realize the strip at rsa was long enough to land a 747, much less one with a shuttle strapped to its back. The one on display at the space and rocket center was brought in to hsv international. They had to make some special median crossings and fence cuts to haul it to where it sits now. Landing at rsa would have been a lot closer.
The harder I practice, the luckier I get.

I remember the shuttle on the 747 but does anyone know who they loaded and unloaded it? It had to be a massive crane. I bet that process was impressive. Weeks Marine lifted one with a barge mounted 500 ton ringer. I don't think the space shuttle is (relatively) that heavy. Compared to the fully fueled and loaded 747 of 400 tons.
not sure what the best way to handle them is but they shouldnt be on tv and gettn married and raisin kids
