DCNR can just pass a regulation making corn legal to hunt over...... This. Doesn't mean that it is happening though.

No they cant. They can not pass anything that overrides state law. really?? salt is illegal to hunt over by state law enacted by the legislature. DCNR passes a regulation saying you can hunt over white salt in direct contridiction to state law. now what did you say????
I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

Hate to go 9er on ya, From 9.2.14 (c) The board shall hold semiannual regular meetings at the time and place designated by the chair of the board or the Commissioner of Conservation and Natural Resources.

Would you take legal advice from a LEO? I have been on this board for awhile and I am fully aware of Troy's credentials. I enjoy reading his post and he is one of a handful of posters on this board that I actual put any merit into what they post. That being said, I believe he is wrong. The board can pass whatever Regs they want, but it would still be illegal according to state law.

Well according to this article ( http://www.outdooralabama.com/dont-forget-harvest-record) it was the legislature that made that provision. “Currently in Alabama, it is illegal to hunt over bait or by the aid of bait,” Dodd said. “Several years ago, the Legislature made an allowance for pure salt, but only salt. Trophy Rock is a naturally mined mineral. When you look at the breakdown of ingredients, it’s 99.4-percent salt. It’s got some impurities in it, but if you look at a box of Morton’s Salt, it’s the same. If the salt block has molasses or grain added, stay away from those. If the list of ingredients says 99-percent salt, you should be OK.

(c) The board shall hold semiannual regular meetings at the time and place designated by the chair of the board or the Commissioner of Conservation and Natural Resources. Don't hate. I don't mind. If "semiannual" were held to be legally binding then every decision made for the last upteen years with two or three meetings each year should be null and void. Right?

The way that reads to me is that they HAVE to meet twice per year but doesn't say anything about meeting more than that. Or at least that specific section reads that way.
