Got a decent 8 point this weekend that's not quite worthy of a shoulder mount, and the wife isn't too keen on skulls so European mount is out.

Thanks.

Artistic Whitetails (Charles) does some good looking ones on rough barn wood placques.

Thanks Fred.

I was hoping not to have to drive that far (West Blocton).

Anybody know a place in the more immediate Birmingham area, like, say, between Trussville and Hoover?

thanks,

Just do it yourself. You can order a #7 plate from fosters for a few dollars and get a plaque at hobby lobby for 3.95. I do all mine and do some for other people every year. It's really easy.

I know. I did that with my first deer. Not really happy with the results though.

Okay then how about I just change my story and say that I'm too cheap to shell out an extra fifty or sixty bucks for a European mount? cool

I've got it worked out with Cuz-Pat.
Thanks for all the suggestions and the *mostly* helpful comments.

This is a plaque mount I did myself; found some old barn wood on our land, wrapped the skull w/Gorilla camo tape from Wal-mart, drilled a few holes & used zip-ties to mount the rack to the wood...
