Does anybody resharpen their montec's or other similar fixed blade broadheads? I can put a decent edge on my knives with a stone and would like to know if anyone could lend some advice.

Does anyone know any info in regards to the angle g5 uses on these broadheads?

you can sharpen montecs on a stone. blades are angled perfectly for it.

I've used different stones including the G5 diamond. I've not been able to get a razor sharp blade at that angle with Montecs. Maybe it's not supposed to be razor sharp??

I followed G5's recommended instructions on how to sharpen these broadheads. Unfortunately it appears it is impossible to get an angle smaller than about 40 degrees. That is just not enough angle to get them razor sharp.

Use a 10" mill file and run the broadhead pointed long ways.

I finally gave away / threw away about a dozen Montecs several years ago. I had the standard heads and the carbon steel heads. Could never sharpen them, plus the edges were pitted from any time they dug up in the ground.
