Look at some of the school hunts. People list them every year on here. Alot of people on here who attend them annually. I've never read a complaint about any of them.

That's a tough budget to work with for what you're asking for.

There are some options here in the south that will be close to your budget but for a realistic chance at a 130"+ deer, your budget is low.

Texas will be your best bet but for that size deer you will probably be in the $2500 range each at least plus a $315 out of state license. Do your homework though because lots of people sell hunts for animals they don't have and you will get ripped off if you don't do a little research!!

Not sure of how you look at things but a high fence hunt in Texas may be a little cheaper than a low fence and most of them aren't canned hunts. Everyone on here will try to blast you for a HF hunt but they haven't a clue how a 5K acre HF ranch is.

I've got a 30,000 acre ranch in West Texas that provides a great experience. It is a 130" ranch meaning that is more than likely what you will shoot. That being said, each year the owner will take numerous bucks in the 140-160" range and the ranch record is 188" non-typical.

This is a 3-day hunt with meals, lodging, guides, field transport, etc., included. You get one trophy buck and one doe for $3100 each. Also, the ranch is covered up with free-range exotics. Aoudad, axis, blackbuck, etc. and they are a flat trophy fee of $1800.

Near Del Rio.

If memory serves me, it was about 16 hours from here so about 15 hours from Bham.

Pretty dang good pricing for what you get with this option depending on success rate! Will be hard to beat this price!

Success rate is normally north of 80% and the other 20% is misses or passing on good deer waiting on a great deer.

Sounds about right for price. For that price ask about up north or high fence. Used to be against high fence, but if you look at pricing you will want to bring some wall hanging material home and may not want to transport the rest of deer. Should get hogs and javelin free from Texas as bonus meat if your after meat.
Local try Enon plantation and tell them what you expect. May get a deal on both of you if you stay local or ask out of state owners. Never know if you don't ask.
