Had a doe broadside at 30 yards at 4:30, drew back, got a solid rest and released the arrow. The arrow hit about a foot in front and to the right of the doe and made an awful noise as it was flying. Pretty sure I caught a limb with my cam. Oh well hopefully I'm getting all this bad luck out for a big bow buck!

Hang in there man and it will happen! I shot at a buck last year and it went 15 feet directly over his back and made a terrible racket. I looked down and my drop away rest had frozen (literally) in the upright position!

A few years ago I tried to shot a doe while sitting out of my API. She was about 20 yards. It made Loud noise when I shot and missed her low. When I looked over my bow the bottom can was bend bad. It had hit the front bar on the stand when I shot. Lesson learned. And there have been many more since.

It bent the cam? I shot when I got home last night and everything was fine. Just hit that limb and it threw it off so bad.

So far this year I have:

Got a twig stuck under the cam and derailed the string when I drew back on a super smart matriarch that i have a lot of history with. I HATE this doe. She is like a genius.

Had a lot of deer go the wrong way so i couldn't get a shot.

Had an 8 come out 3 minutes after it was too dark to shoot him.

Hit a vine two weeks ago and it deflected the shot 2 feet in front of a doe.

Shot 2" over the back of a big 6 the other day with my daughter.

Lol so me and you are in the same boat this year.

Did your arrow scream after hitting that vine?

You just need toi calm down ! You are putting too much pressure on yourself and that can cause rushed shoots or other problems in form. If a deer is walking towards you or browsing left it keep coming towards you. It will happen, calm down and enjoy it. i have no doubt you are a bowhunter, just let it happen ! Once you've killed one it will be easier for next. Enjoy your journey to get that first kill. I promise its something you will never forget. I didn't get my first till my second year bowhunting. I got it the first 15 mins of opening day. The shot was not perfect because she jumped. It hit the artery running bown her back and she bled out in 30 steps. Blood was everywhere. I've always dipped or wrapped my arrows to make it easy to see impact point. The white arrow was completely red. Merry Christmas
