Quick question for those who use them. When you drop them in that receiver and cam them down, are they secure enough to hunt or do you find you need to add a strap down at platform level to get it rock solid?

For it to be rock solid, there needs to be a strap at the bottom. With that being said, I never strap the bottom. Once you step in it, it becomes rock solid.

So I guess ya didn't add any. smile First person that hunts it carry a strap or two and add them then.

They are solid, but I like plenty of straps, that way the bottom won't "walk" on ya.

Dont own any yet. Brent and I are considering putting up a ton of sticks, brackets, and just dropping the stand into the bracket before hunting. I.E. Just buy one or two of them instead of a bunch. I aint got yo kind of money!

rofl I only have one , and I won it, they cost too much fer me .

I've thought about that idea too, putting up several brackets and having two stands and leap frogging the stands as needed.

Back to yer problem, I don't think you have one . If properly installed you're not supposed to need extra straps. Only thing I've seen is the bottom might move a little gettin' in and out. But once you're in it's rock solid.

ive never used a bottom strap.. been using them since they came out. Im attached to the tree way before I ever step on to the platform so Ive never worried about it.

I have 4 milliniums and I put a strap at the bottom as per the instructions. It can be used with out the strap, but I like for it not to move at all when crossing to and from.

I've got 6 and won't buy another brand of hang on now. I put a strap on all mine at the bottom, so to me, it's not a big deal.

I have M150 they come with a strap for the bottom, and on the M100 I run a strap as well on the bottom. I do on any lockon.

I put a cam buckle strap at the bottom of mine. The unsteady feeling getting in and out of it is what held me back from buying one for so long. However, on our preset sticks and brackets, there are normally lifelines attached to the tree already.

Cam buckle strap on the bottom takes an extra 15 seconds to put on.

I have six Milleniums and I always put a strap on the bottom. I think it would take an ideal tree for it to be rock solid with just the bracket.

I thought about your idea of just buying sticks and brackets for one or two seats. Besides the lower strap (which you could still add on the spot), I just get too hot hauling the seat up and dropping it in the bracket. I think that's a selling point by Millenium but I don't see it as being that practical.

I always carry a cam strap with me as well. I hunt with a muddy harness so I attach the linemans belt at the bottom of the tree. Have the Mu150 on my back, my weapon at the bottom of the tree with a string attached to it and my harness. I climb the tree, tighten my linemans belt at the top, and lock my stand in place with the chain lock. I then throw the cam strap on the bottom. The entire process takes a couple of minutes and I know I can sit all day if needed. Much more secure with the cam strap

I don't use an extra strap on mine. It's plenty solid enough for me.

Being an engineer and all, I figured you'd be smart enough to avoid the metal on metal contact....shrink tubing is your friend

I use a strap for the bottom on my m-100's. Takes an extra 30 seconds and gives that extra support. The new m-150's have the strap already there to use. M-150's are the best I've used and planned to purchase few more before next year.
