Got called in to work tonight tochange out a broke pole about 6:00. Said car had hit and broke it. State trooper said the lady was so drunk she didn't even know where she was at or what she was doing. That made me made enough. What made me fighting made was she had her kid in the car with her. State trooper said he was probably around 10 years old.

Both were ok but took the child by ambulance to hospital just in case and to get him away from situation. Mom was stuffed in the back of state troopers Tahoe

DUI with a child in the car will not be a pleasant experience for her and rightly so.

I hope you're right. Friend of mines ex-wife got caught twice doing this same thing. No one wins in a situation like this.

When my daughter was born it changed my whole perspective on risk-taking behaviors. I knew I had to clean up any hint of idiocy with the way I lived since I had such an important, new obligation in my life. Some people just don't change, though. Fifty year-olds still living life like they are still nineteen.

You got that right. I would have charged her with child endangerment as well. When I worked in Georgia it was an additional DUI charge. It's basically like getting two DUIs at one time. I don't have any sympathy for DUIs and I sure don't when they have a child in the car. It fires me up!

I called HP last night about one on I65 just south of Athens. They almost sideswiped me as I was passing them. They then proceeded to swerve all over both lanes for the next few miles.

Diane: Am I interrupting something important?

Ron Swanson: Impossible. I work for the government.

This all too familiar with me. When i was about 10, at ft. carson colorado, I really wanted to go shoot some skeet at the rod and gun club on post. My dad was all for that. We got down there and he commenced to drinking while i was shooting 4 or 5 rounds of skeet. He passed out. Come dark, he was still passed out. Place was closed...it was dark...but i finally got him concious enough to "drive" home. I REALLY would have done a better job driving, even at 10. BUT, we had to go thru an armed gate, and even at 10, I knew that wouldn't fly. So, 20-30 minutes of pucker factor of 10k later...we made it home. I never asked again. Remember it like it was yesterday. How my dad didn't kill anyone is beyond me? But I am so thankful that his wrecks never involved another vehicle.

The harder I practice, the luckier I get.

The cops could write as many dui's as they wanted to on folks leaving the casino in Atmore....never see anyone stopped, though.

I wonder why?

I know a guy that has had 6 dui's and he still has his driver's license.
A good lawyer and enough money and he walked away with a slap on the wrist.
If I had my way about it, he would still be in jail from his first one.

6 arrest for DUI is different than 6 DUIs. 6 convictions and he would not have a license and would have a felony on his record.

Not everyone arrested of a crime is guilty.

I have no use for anyone who drinks (even 1 beer) and then gets behind the wheel. I carried my son out for pizza for his birthday tonight and danged near everyone in there had several beers or glasses of wine and then hit the road. Pisses me off!!!

Not anything wrong with a beer. But I never see a table with just one beer bottle. There are usually several for each person at the table.

bullchit! Judging by this week's thread topics I'm willing to bet there's more folks on here dining out in penny loafers, and drinking champagne with their pinky finger stuck in the air.. smile

Well I'll tell you right now you don't have any use for ALOT of people on this site including me.Sometimes when we got out to eat I like to drink a beer before I eat.Ain't a thing in the world wrong with drinking a beer when you go eat.
bullchit! Judging by this week's threads I'm willing to bet there's more folks on here, that drink champagne with their pinky finger stuck in the air.. smile

I agree with that too.

Not anything wrong with a beer. But I never see a table with just one beer bottle. There are usually several for each person at the table.

I agree and see it about Everytime we do go out to eat but you did say even 1 beer.I am with yall though I have no sympathy for drunk drivers and think they need to throw the book at every single one they catch.

Sorry man but I am pretty adamant about drinking and driving. Some people can handle a little alcohol and some can't. I have been around a few people who after 1 drink had visible effects.

I did say I have no use for people who drink and drive. Even just 1 beer based on personal observations. I will from time to time have a jack and coke but you will never see me drink anything then get behind the wheel. Once the drink is mixed I am done driving. Not even going to take that chance.

6 arrest for DUI is different than 6 DUIs. 6 convictions and he would not have a license and would have a felony on his record.

Not everyone arrested of a crime is guilty.

True enough...but where there is smoke there is fire. 6 times is ridiculous regardless of rather he was convicted or not.

I understand that and have seen people the same way after a drink or two.

Absolutely true.

And, not everyone who is found "not guilty" is actually "not guilty".

True. There is a difference in not guilty and innocent.
